Podcast #130: Law of Attraction: An Often Overlooked Part of the Manifesting Process

Ask and you shall receive. Just believe what you want is possible. In a nutshell, yes, this is kind of how it works. But as I always like to say, the theory and reality of manifesting can be worlds apart, and there might be a few thing us humans need to tackle to make real, lasting, meaningful shifts in our energy and belief system.

  1. I understand this but what happens after each time you be honest with yourself, how do I then believe the things I want to believe

    1. Hi there
The thing to understand about all our various specific limiting beliefs is that at the core, the ‘limitations’ are basically the same–feeling powerless, thinking things outside of you control things, this past experience or that past experience informs what we believe is possible moving forward, we are on our own and not supported, everything is random and has no meaning, etc… If we accept the core belief that our energy creates our reality, and nothing else, that the Universe is set up to support us, all these individual beliefs automatically collapse because that core foundation on which they rest is not valid. This is not a satisfying answer to our mind because it likes steps, processes and actions, and while certain ‘actions’ may help facilitate this process by helping us consciously engage our energy such as saying an affirmation or journaling or whatever, ultimately it is nothing more than a decision. At some point we decided a certain belief was true and now we are making a new decision. The biggest obstacle to this is looking to our current reality and fighting for our limiting beliefs based on what is happening now and what has happened in the past–this seems like it is beyond our control but it isn’t. The key is this decision is not something we do once, we must make it everytime our new beliefs we are trying to adopt get challenged.

  2. Hi Kelli,

I have the same question Jack does. I think what you said is so true and I can understand the difficulties I often have with manifesting in light of what you’ve said, but I’m really at a loss right as to how to shift my limiting beliefs. I know on some level a person can just choose to believe differently, but that’s not how it feels most of the time. It seems like I can acknowledge my limiting beliefs all day long, but no energetic shift is actually resulting from that honesty. How can I shift to more positive beliefs while still acknowledging what my current beliefs really are?

  3. Hey again Kelli,

When You have said that the Universe responses to our feelings not to what our mind knows…..in that case for example if a person KNOWS he is a good person, with a lot of good qualities, who deserve a lot of good things, and must have self esteem ,but deeply inside ( cause of some reason ) he FEELS he actually doesn’t deserve this or that good thing, deeply inside disrespect himself….in that case he is going to attract for example people who disrespect him ? Do I understand it right?
If yes in that case if we think “ oh but I KNOW I am a good person, why this happened to me” we should actually in that moment pay attention to how we truly FEEL about ourselves, how we truly see and treat ourselves.

    Kind Regards,

    Sandy

  4. Hi Kelli;
I really loved this podcast (what else is new? 😉 )
For me, it is more about learning to “un-know” the half century of learning the plethora of unwanted thoughts, and unhelpful patterns of thinking.
I love learning and applying LoA principles. I set intentions, and then… manifest more unwanted junk. Or the opposite (and unwanted) of my intention.
Which points to the deep, deep grooves of neural pathways that need to be re-routed. Yes, so much to un-learn! So much to un-know!
Pam Grout (in her awesome book E-squared), dubs it “doubling back to Biloxi.”
    I love that analogy.
I suppose that I gain some comfort from recognizing that I’m increasing my awareness, and that the new learning will eventually create their own deep neural pathways…
    Thanks again!
    Denise

    1. Hi Denise
You are right that a big part of this transformation is being aware of,questioning and rejecting the old programming. Something will always be coming up for us because most of this information is lying under the surface and we can’t become conscious of all of it at once. Things happen that bring the belief and what we ‘know’ to light and then we weigh this against these principles and if they don’t hold up, we can just choose to let them go.
