Podcast #113: Law of Attraction: Are You Overestimating Your Blocks?

Studying a teaching like the law of attraction will have us digging around in our mind in a way we might not with other personal-growth-related subject matter. When things aren’t going the way we want them to, it is all too easy to assume there must be something swimming around in there that is complex, complicated, deep and dark. And unless we find it we are screwed. This doesn’t feel very good, and this likely isn’t the issue.

  1. Hi Kelli,

Thanks for this podcast. I’ve been obsessing over my issues for a while and to be honest, I’ve been waiting for the big bad to turn up so I can deal with it and move on. However, it’s elusive and I felt that maybe I’m not digging deep enough.

But how can one curb the frustration though? How can one just deal with addressing all these issues again. If I think of why I’m putting up so much resistance to overcoming these obvious blocks, I think maybe it’s because I have bigger issues from the past I need to overcome. Why would these issues keep cropping up even after you’ve made your peace with them? And how can you remain positive if they keep making their presence felt?

    1. Hi Snig
It might feel like a relief to know that maybe you don’t have to try and feel positive if you are feeling badly. It’s one thing to try and maintain a positive perspective when going through challenges (while at the same time allowing our emotions) and trying to deny how we are really feeling so we can stay ‘happy’ to make sure we get what we want. It is all about intention. Intending to address your issues as a means of healing and purging is very different than just feeling badly, getting stuck in it, thinking there isn’t anything we can do to make our lives better, and resigning ourselves to our current reality.
