Podcast #45: Law of Attraction: Are You Missing This Key Piece of the Manifesting Puzzle?

When we start working with a teaching like the law of attraction, there is a lot of focus on thinking about what we want, doing all our ‘tools’ to shift our energy and the like. And all of this is important of course. But that’s not the whole picture. Listen in as I chat you up about a key aspect that is easily overlooked.

  1. Oh amazing, awesome, authentically fabulous Kelli – I was about to go searching for one of your earlier podcasts which I really wanted to hear again and this popped into my inbox. I listened, cracked up laughing, felt my energy shift and feel very grateful for this podcast – to the point, nailing it wisdom. You rock. Have a beautiful day!!

    1. Hi Betsy
I am so glad you liked it. I really enjoy the audio content because you can really feel energy more strongly and it gets into your own field. You have a great day too

  2. Hey Kelli!
First comment on your awesome blog! Wow when I found this place I literally cried. I’m going to be blunt in saying, my life has been pretty much shit for over the past decade, so nearly half the time I’ve been alive. And it keeps getting worse.
I experience pretty much all of the resistances you listed, especially not being ready, not trusting and worthiness (big one!!) How the f#&% do you shift them all? Especially when you have no money at all for a coach?? Or even a class or workshop? I don’t know how to manifest the help I need. How do you let go of preferences for certain details? There is stuff that I’m crazy attached to getting, but I know this screws everything up. I know I’m holding myself back and am responsible for my life being the way it is now, but I really don’t know how to crawl out of this hole or what I’m doing wrong. I feel like I need to manifest the next step, someone or something who can help me get better, even medication, but the financial costs and availability are holding me back.

    1. Hey Amanda
Thanks for your comment. That you are able to be so honest about how you feel is really important. One of the great things about doing this work is that essentially, there is only one issue we need to address, and that is re-establishing our connection with ‘spirit’in the form of our higher selves and the Universe or whatever your preferred term is. When we really start trusting there is that support, when we really start becoming more aware of our true nature, which is whole and complete, all the various ‘issues’ we have start taking care of themselves without us necessarily staring them down and trying to ‘fix’ them individually. We do often need to give some loving attention to certain issues because they are stronger and our mind will want to examine them. But generally, that isn’t as necessary as we may think, which can ease some of the anxiety we feel when we discover we have a lot of ‘stuff’ going on.

When you are ready to manifest more clarity, it will always come to you in a way that is totally accessible to you. So if paid resources aren’t an option right now, like a coach or a particular class or program, that isn’t the answer and what you need isn’t being withheld in any way because you don’t have the means to make use of it. It will come another way and there will be no impediment.

It is also important to realize you aren’t doing anything ‘wrong’ The key is really being open to the solutions even if you don’t know what they look like yet, a willingness to look beyond your current reality to something different that will start taking shape as soon as we demonstrate even the smallest amount of faith and willingness to believe things can improve. Just remember that no matter how your current circumstances may be demonstrating some sort of ‘lack’ your true nature is not lacking in any way.

  3. Kelli,

“Like, um…..yeah ya dumb bitch! I really want this stuff, of course I’m ready to get it!”…….lol! You’re a funny person, Kelly.

    Good podcast 🙂

    1. Thanks ya dumb bitch 😉
Glad you enjoyed it. I like to keep my personal development light

  4. I really enjoyed this podcast, Kelli! I’ve been taking a break from reading/listening to so much LOA stuff precisely because of some the issues you raised in your talk. I get too much chatter going in my head, to the detriment of just feeling, and then I get all overly-specific about HOW things are supposed to happen instead of focusing on the desired end FEELING.

I think this is where a lot of us get tripped up. We are told we need to get really specific about what we want in order for it to manifest, but what we forget (or at least I do) is that when we get specific, we’re really supposed to be getting detailed about feelings, not things. So instead of focusing on all the intricacies of how I want to move to Europe, for example, I should be putting my energy more on what it would feel like for me to be there. Yeah, of course we need to take some concrete steps towards what we want, but getting overly specific about details of our manifestations can work against us. When I get too specific about the aforementioned move, I start worrying about things like how my dogs will get there, what I’ll do with all my stuff, and how I’ll afford rent there, which is all ridiculous, right?!

    1. Hey there
Sorry for the delayed response..got overlooked by accident. I am so glad you enjoyed it. I think sometimes it can be good to take a break from consuming personal development information. If we feel frustrated, we’ll just be really resistant to what we are hearing anyway. Also, it can create anxiety as we can constantly be on the search for some new piece of information that will be some sort of magic bullet. Sometimes we just need to pull back and draw on what we have already learned and let ourselves just deal with whatever is going on. You are right it is about the feelings then the other stuff starts to take care of itself. The feelings are really important to because it helps us focus on what we really want, which is to feel a certain way. Often times, we get really attached to specific manifestations and it’s not even what we really want ultimately, it is just a representation. Maybe it is the best one or maybe not, but as long as we’re managing our energy, stuff we like is going to show up.

You are right that making certain things happen will require various actions and decisions but yeah, the focus on the energy is what will help things start taking shape and then anything required of us to aid the manifestation will be brought to our attention and we’ll act accordingly. It might be a good idea to write down all the things you are worrying about, just to ‘get them out of your system’ and then rip it up or burn it or something. It might make you feel better.

  5. As a control freak, I totally do this all the time. I took a (potentially) wrong turn down a career path in January because I thought to myself, “My next job will come from someone that I know!” and it did, and I took it. Yeah, I’m making more money, but I am so stressed out now that I am making myself physically ill. So what did I do to combat this? I wrote up a long list of details about the next job that I am going to get. Ugh. This whole LOA thing is not easy for us control freaks!! xD (I have to start singing that song from Frozen whenever I feel like I’m trying too hard.)

Also I am scared of change because it means more responsibility which means less freedom, and freedom is what I crave (found that out thanks to one of Kelli’s blog posts!). But freedom is not sitting on my butt watching TV to “de-stress”! So I guess my question is, how do I chase freedom when I feel extremely constrained, especially within the parameters of my job? Do I need to define it as I see it, in order to chase it? I mean, I guess if I were totally free I wouldn’t have to worry about a job and could just make money off of the crazy projects that I have brewing in my head. But then, how do I make time to feel free when I don’t feel like I have any time to myself? I’m overthinking, aren’t I? Yup, I’m an overthinking control freak. Siiiiiigh. xD

    1. Hey Emjay
Thanks for your comment. The first thing I would say is try not to look at your decision about that job as ‘wrong.’ We really can’t make a mistake or a wrong choice–it is just something we did at the time because for some reason it seemed like the best option. Maybe the energy driving the decision may have been a bit screwy but then this manifestation helps you figure that out, and that is the value in it. As for the rest of your comment, I think you raised a lot of questions and concerns that others deal with too and I would like to use it in a blog post. Stay tuned for that.
