It is all too easy to get caught up in the immediate moment, trying to make big changes too fast, all in the name of some immediate result. When we remember what we are really after, and what we are really looking to do, we can cultivate a much more effective approach to change.

Podcast #112: Law of Attraction: Remember You’re Playing the Long Game

Haha Kelli this is so relevant to me! Thank you! Why can’t I figure it all out in a couple of hours over a rainy weekend when I don’t have anything better to do?
I know right??
Hello Kelli,
Indeed Kelli, we all are playing the long game, longer than the marathon.
Blogging is not an easy thing to deal with, once we enter into this area and when the money starts flowing in and people start
to build their networks, then the hunger for more grows. One do not want to be stop at that certain point, they want to go for more.
Yeah its need a lot of hard work and commitment in the starting, people would see that their is nothing gonna happens and
quit this thing but miracles do happen in blogging. The only key is following the strict routine and keep stick to it
for all those years. Ryan always say, ” We all are in the long run and being tortoise its the smartest thing one can do, examine
all the near by things and then making our next move”. Indeed this is hybrid world, not only hard work can make us a winner
but also the tendency to act smartly in difficult times makes the difference.
Thanks for the share.
Shantanu.
Hi Shantanu
The example with blogging and business is a really good one. It is easy to want to quit when we don’t see results immediately. But if we do our work from a place of service and providing value, that can be its own reward, and the lack of immediate results will not bother us so much.
Hi Kelli,
I came across your blog recently and consider myself very fortunate for the same. I have been going through a rough patch with respect to my job search and I have invested a lot of money in getting my degree with the assumption that I will get a great job which will pave the way for my future. Obviously I did not imagine it to be a cakewalk but I certainly did not imagine the level of hardship that I am currently facing.
I try to be positive and apply to various relevant job vacancies but with the level of competition and other factors, the probability of getting an interview is very small. Every time I get a rejection email, i literally get a gut wrenching feeling. I am finding it extremely difficult to remain positive in this situation and your blog is helping me sort through this mess. However, I would love to know if you have anything specific I can focus on or develop an intention which will be steadfast and not be diluted by every job rejection email.
Hi Nikhil
Based on your comment you seem to be very focused on what you don’t want and engaging in limited thinking–competition, etc… These beliefs and feelings are normal and you don’t want to beat yourself up about them, but you also have to recognize you have a choice to think a different way. Don’t feel pressure to think that way all the time and squash your fears and limiting beliefs totally right this second, but there has to be that willingness to not buy into a way of thinking about this situation that feels badly and makes you think what you want isn’t possible. You have to honor where you are right now, and that is really far away from where you want to be energetically–believing with all your heart your job is out there and you can easily get it. That’s okay. Right now, you just have to be willing to concede that the way your mind is looking at this situation may not be correct, and even if you haven’t gotten the job yet, doesn’t mean it’s not out there. You also have to consider that you can come across this job in many ways, and not just by directly applying for openings you come across. You can meet someone in your industry for example, and he gets you an interview at his company. The use of the word ‘gut-wrenching’ is very telling and suggests you have a lot of fear and negative emotion–that will have to be dealt with in order to really gain some momentum behind the ‘positive’ energy you are trying to cultivate.
