Now back to our regularly scheduled programming….

As one year comes to an end and a new one is upon us, I imagine all you LOA ‘enthusiasts’ are hoping to step up your manifesting a notch in 2015. The desire to create something new is especially strong now, and it is a great time to set new intentions and goals. I was thinking about some common issues people encounter that can stand in the way of their manifesting, and these were the first three that popped in the old noggin of mine, so for your reading pleasure, here you go…enjoy!

Not Realizing Actions are a Manifestation of Your Vibration

When I first read about our thoughts being a manifestation of our vibration like anything else, that was profound. It seems so obvious now, but was not a connection that I had made previous to happening upon that little nugget of wisdom. And, at some point, I made the realization that our actions are also manifestations of our vibration.

Action is one thing that really trips up our manifesting work without a doubt. We see people talk about how hard they worked to get where they are, how they failed over and over before finding success, and what have you. Successful people are always asked how they got where they are and we want to know all the actions that were taken. Then we conclude we must take all those same actions lest we will not get the same results.

The idea that we don’t have to do much of anything to get what we want is very pleasing to the ears, but not something we can readily accept. My brain still fights me on it sometimes like anyone else. Beliefs like no pain, no gain, are deeply embedded, and aren’t going to go away so easily, even when you continually experience great results with minimal effort. Our minds are quite the formidable opponent.

So, we constantly struggle whether or not to take specific actions. Not doing anything often doesn’t sit well—it is like the mental equivalent of wearing a really uncomfortable, itchy sweater.

We have observed that busting our booties has seemed to work for many people, and we reason that going that route will assure of at least some sort of result. Even if we intuitively know that the opposite is true, we just don’t have enough proof, nor trust, to let it ride.

But, when we realize the actions we take are a manifestation of our vibration like anything else, we will get clued in to where we are at the moment based on what we feel inspired to do. If we are feeling compelled to take action because we fear we will not get what we want without it, or with the idea of forcing a result through a specific channel, that shows we are already out of alignment with what we want, and acting from this energetic space is just going to push us further away from it.

So, we are better off not doing whatever it is we thinking about doing because we still have some work to do mentally. Our limiting beliefs are clearly still running the show, and we are lacking trust big time. Sure, the actions may net some sort of result after awhile, but the progress will be slow, and the experience will be really unpleasant all around.

When we are feeling like this, the less we do the better…your mind is going to fight you on this but be strong!

Engaging in ‘Feel Good’ Activities without Actually Feeling All that Great

So, as we know, our world is a mirror of what is happening on the inside, and the better we feel, the more positive things we will attract into all areas of our life, from money to relationships. When we are feeling good, we attract thoughts that match this higher vibration, we get inspiration to take certain actions that get us great results with little effort, we get intuitive nudges to do certain things and we are led to something that assists us in our journey in some way, we let in solutions to problems, and all that jazz.

When we are feeling good, we have a more positive perspective on life, we start seeing ourselves in more positive light, and we automatically begin to chip away at limiting beliefs all around without specifically focusing on them—we just develop a greater sense of knowing that they aren’t valid, and they start to weaken.

So, it stands to reason we should aim to feel good as much as possible. Don’t worry about being manically happy every second or never thinking a negative thought–we are just aiming for the majority of the time, though that mode of operating would get us amazing results quite quickly!

When we are feeling crappy, it is a good idea to try and feel better. We should make doing the things that make us happy a priority, because like I said earlier, feeling good opens the doors to all sorts of great stuff. But, as you know, our good old brains have to come in and rain on our parade.

We are taught we must give all our attention to our problems until we come up with a solution. We have to work really hard, and the path to the things we want, is lined with unpleasant activities we don’t want to do, but must to get them. We have to do a whole bunch of stuff that makes us unhappy to finally claim the prize.

However, we have been boning up on LOA and we know the importance of feeling good, and doing things that cultivate said feeling. We learn it is okay to not stare down all our problems constantly to try and solve them, nor do we have to subject ourselves to doing things we would rather not. Since feeling good is the aim, anything that makes us feel good is worthwhile, no matter how frivolous it may seem.

But, again, our minds fight us on this, and even when we are attempting to engage in our feel-good activities, like reading a book in a nice bubble bath, taking our dog for a walk in a beautiful park, or meeting with a friend for some coffee and good conversation, we are not actually enjoying these moments as fully as we can.

We have that voice in our head that is telling us we should be doing something else instead. We should be forcing ourselves to write our next blog post even if we are totally feeling writer’s block, wracking our brains to find that solution to a current problem even though thinking about it makes us feel awful, or taking control of our life by sitting down and figuring out exactly ‘how’ we are going to get what we want and all the concrete actions we will take to make sure we get it, even if doing so makes us feel terrible because we haven’t the foggiest idea.

And when this is happening, we are diluting the benefits of our feel-good activities because well..we aren’t actually feeling good. The worry, lack of trust, and all the other yuck, is still quite dominant, and what is dominant determines what we attract. It is kind of like doing affirmations but not really believing them. You are doing the ‘work,’ but the emotion is not there.

So, start paying attention to what is going on in your head when you are doing your own ‘feel good’ activities. Are you in the moment as best as you can be, and really feeling the good feelings? Or are you engaged in an internal battle with the ‘old’ you who is making accusations of laziness or being ‘unrealistic?’

Will you be able to totally lose yourself in the moment each and every time? Probably not, and that’s okay. Remember, it is all about what is dominant, and you want to do your best to really tap into the good feelings in these moments as much as you can.

Overloading Yourself with Tools and Information

Being happy, succeeding with LOA and what have you, is at its core, quite simple. What makes it hard is all the gunk that is standing in the way of who we really are. We can’t quite access the amazing power we have to create our desired realities, and release what no longer serves us,with relative ease, in a short amount of time.

Because of all the ‘stuff’ that we have taken in over the years as truth, we have a lot of conditioning to overcome, and we may not be able to make things happen as quickly as they actually can. And that’s okay—it is what it is. We may always bump up against something that is standing in our way, and we have to do a bit of work to overcome it. We are here to create, and as time goes on, you will want things that you are not quite a match to yet, and you’ll have to do some vibrational tweaking.

So, this desire to change often requires some conscious effort—in theory, we can just decide to stop doing certain things, start believing more positive beliefs and the like, but it usually doesn’t go down like that.

We need a bit of help, so we turn to books, coaches, seminars and other sources of information; we read about all sorts of exercises, affirmations and other tools. On the whole, this is a really good thing because we need to expose ourselves to the information that will help us change; the tools are helpful for applying what we learn, and keeping us focused on what we want. The reinforcement is good for letting new thought patterns and beliefs take root.

Because the principles of LOA represent such a departure from how we have been conditioned to think, we are especially compelled to gather all we can about it, and do all sorts of exercises that will help us overcome our limiting beliefs and make us a better match to what we want.

But, you want to be careful here about overloading yourself with too much information and too many tools. More is not necessarily better. Often times, this can have a detrimental effect in that it causes you to focus excessively on what is currently missing from your reality in this moment, or the issues which which you are struggling. Doing 10 different exercises in a day may make you feel a bit anxious—the work doesn’t feel good, it feels forced. It becomes a form of action that is not coming from a good place. It is easy to fall into the trap of too much ‘doing’ and not enough ‘being.’

Now, if you are engaging in this work to this degree, and you feel great, go for it. But, if you are not feeling great, pull back. Just focus on one book, not five. Don’t simultaneously do five different programs for attracting more money, just focus on one for now, and really putting your energy into those teachings. Pick two or three exercises that feel really good to you, and just do those for the next few weeks. Remember that the core is how you feel, and that anything that will get you there is good for you—don’t do things that don’t resonate with the idea you must do these things or you won’t get what you want.

Personal development work can certainly present its challenges at times, but overall, it should be fun, light and feel good. If it doesn’t, you want to fix that real quick.

In Closing…

This whole conscious creation thing can sometimes feel like more trouble than it’s worth…the frustration factor can be high, the doubt strong and the trust slow to come. But, just keep at it….what better way is there to live than consciously creating our reality? You may not feel super powerful all the time, and you will sometimes wonder if this stuff really works. But, you are more powerful than you know, and it will reveal itself more and more, and yes, it really works.

Your Turn…

What did you think of this post? What part resonated with you the most? Where do you think you are struggling? Would you add anything to what I have said here? Any tips of your own? Looking forward to your thoughts so we can have a nice chat!

Law of Attraction: 3 Things that May Be Messing with Your Manifestations

  1. Hello, Thanks for the great post!
I’m still struggling with whether or not I should take actions..
What do you think about missed opportunities then?
Actually, I think I was in alignment for the past few weeks, I was feeling very light so I actually felt like doing something, going somewhere..but I ended up not doing it but shortly after a while, I started regretting. And now I feel really down because I’m afraid it will take a really long time to have another opportunity and I keep telling myself could’ve should’ve would’ve.. If I’d taken that action, I would’ve felt better and good things might have come. Does the universe give us endless opportunities..? When I feel like I missed an opportunity, how should I deal with this frustration?

    1. Hi Emily
Thanks so much, I am so glad you liked the post. Without knowing the specifics of the opportunity you are referring to, I can’t give too detailed of a response, but in terms of worrying about missed opportunities in general, I can give some insights. First, we have to realize that this worry stems from a fear that opportunity is limited, and that we may not get another shot. That speaks to the common issues many of us have regarding trust, thinking there is not enough to go around and that we are not fully in control of creating our desired reality. For whatever reason, you felt compelled to not pursue this opportunity, and even if you regard this decision as the ‘wrong’ one for whatever reason, everything that happens to us is beneficial in that it helps us clarify our desires, see where we may have blocks, etc…

So, it would probably be helpful for you to take a moment to consider why you decided not to do it–pay attention to whatever comes up, and I am sure you will uncover something useful. For example, you might find that it was not exactly what you wanted, and in realizing that, you got a firmer idea of what exactly you want to attract. Often times, we attract situations that allow us to see we have choices and that we can pick and choose what we want in our lives. It is easy to think that anything that comes our way after we set a specific intention is ‘the’ manifestation, even if not ideal, and that we better just take it, but that is not how it has to be.

Regardless of why you passed up this opportunity, know that what you want is still available to you because you have the power to create it. When something comes up that doesn’t feel right, don’t feel pressured to take it because you think that is the best you can get, or the Universe is sending some sort of ‘message’ that this is all you are able to have. It is a neutral force, and doesn’t judge, decide, etc…

This situation will serve you in some way, and help strengthen your manifesting efforts by giving you some sort of wisdom to apply moving forward.

      1. Thank you so much for your kind reply. I thought about why I didn’t take action after reading your reply and now I’m feeling a bit better. I could understand why I made that decision. And I learned that I didn’t put joy, excitement, feeling good first if I don’t want to regret later.

Especially, I was frustrated because I felt like I lost some momentum going on in my life by passing by the chance.

And actually, I’ve been trying to fully trust ‘LOA’ but sometimes I can’t help but to question it. It’s been about 6 months.
So if I set my intention again and get aligned with those feelings, I can manifest similar opportunities?

        1. Hi Emily
My pleasure. Glad the response was helpful for you. That questioning is completely normal..after all, this way of thinking is quite different from how most of us have been taught to think so simply going all in 100 percent immediately is probably not going to happen. The important thing to remember is you can start manifesting great stuff even without being at that 100 percent–I imagine most people never get there truly! Just be patient and always remember to truly celebrate all your manifestations, no matter how small. You can manifest whatever you want, so just give some careful thought to what you really want, and do your best to get into the feelings behind the desire as much as you can. Take action when it feels good, and just remember that you can’t possibly figure out all the different ways the thing you want can come to you. Good luck and hope to ‘talk’ to you again soon!

  2. First of all, I would like to thank you Kelli for the hypnosis link. Self hypnosis wasn’t something that really entered my mind to try, even though I believe that it is effective. So I went onto the link just to have a look – but I ended up buying about 16 or 17 tapes! It really is a good deal and I believe it was sent to me via you and Steve to help me along my LOA journey. I have committed to working through all the tapes until I get to the end. Thanks again!
What you said above about actions being manifestations of our vibration is very interesting. At the moment I am preparing to return to work after 10 years of child rearing (it went so fast!). Already I have had people tell me ‘it’s hard after so long’ but I won’t hear it. I am confident of my skills and that I will find work quickly so I know I will. Anyway, we are also having financial difficulties at the moment, so I am finding it hard to figure out if what I am doing (job hunting, the type of work and study I am considering) is out of fear (for the money) or inspired action (what I want to do). Yesterday I spent the entire day on the web trying to figure out what course to do, until my head hurt and I was so overloaded. Today I am just going to forget it and do something I enjoy and relax and the answer will come to me in a few days no doubt.
I have also found that setting intentions (did you have a look at The Map?) is great, if you read them every day. Here in Australia it is summer holidays for 6 weeks and we can’t afford to go away, and I was a bit worried about how to amuse the kids for so long. I set the intention that we would have fun and abundant holidays, and so far the time has whizzed by, and we have been invited to stay with friends for a few days out of town! Just to get away is a kind of a holiday so I am so grateful and I am really looking forward to it!
    Oh and Happy New Year!

    1. Hey there
So happy you liked it, and found some programs you think would be helpful for you. I just felt a nudge to share that because I thought there would be people who would find it interesting and the fact he was selling them all for a dollar was amazing! There is just one I am working with right now, but I bought a whole bunch and will work through them over time.

That is exciting you are starting a new chapter. You are right about that prevailing thought of it being hard to get back in the employment saddle after taking a break to raise children. You know what..I can feel the energy coming from you in your words, and I 100 percent believe you are truly confident and know you will find something. Whenever I find myself exposed to a point of view–because that is all it really ever is, not some definitive truth-that is disempowering, I just say ‘return to sender’ I dont’ want this..it is simple but a great way to remind ourselves not to let other people get in our head. If you are finding yourself not sure what is motivating you, it is good to sit and ask yourself why you are being compelled to pursue a certain course. This sounds overly simple, but this deliberate act of questioning ourselves is often skipped over, and provided we can answer the questions with complete honesty, you will get a clearer sense of your motivations. If they are fear-based, you can see what you can do to shift them. That is good you took that signal and just stepped back..that is the exact kind of thing we want to do, and you’ll make some nice space for inspirations and ideas that will be generated by the ‘big’ you who knows exactly what you should do at this point.
Thank you for telling me about it.

  3. Kelli,

What fun new fonts you have here! =) I dig it!

These are a few of the things I struggled with back in my big LOA days. I put so much pressure on myself to be feeling good all the time, but I was defeating the purpose!

I still struggle with self-doubt all the time and I need to get better about being more conscious about the thoughts I nurture because there is always a choice!

Happy New Year to you and Ryan!
    Brittany

    1. Hey Brittany
Glad you like it..I was playing around with some different ones and I had a particularly positive response to this one so I went with it. Don’t feel badly about the self-doubt…you are certainly not alone in that one! You are awesome, and you just need to focus more deliberately on all that awesomeness so that view gets bigger and the other one starts to naturally shrink away. Happy new year to you too…heading over to your post now. I am sure it will be an entertaining read as always!

  4. Oh my goodness so much of this resonated with me! And it’s been enlightening with reaffirming the importance of not acting until if feels right. I know this, I’ve experienced it and when it felt good to act things just fell into place. Just this one principle alone is massively helpful. I think there are so many suggestions that we say yeah, this is right on. But then we pass them right up and forget them and focus on something else. For me personally this is a biggy. And since reading this several days ago I’ve held onto this principle.
I’m guilty of trying a ton of different techniques, none of them really feeling good and feeling overwhelmed, not having progressed, and getting frustrated with the entire process. How this info would have helped over the last several years! Better late than never. 🙂
One of your readers suggested The Map and I finished it the other day. I will now start a second time to read it and begin the excercises. It’s exactly what I’ve been needing.

I’ve actually started to feel lighter, like I can let go better and focus on feeling good. I mean really feeling good along with relief. I had a moment of feeling the ease that things can just happen a few days ago. I wasn’t able to really hold on to that for too long but I’m searching for the feeling again and it all seems so much easier to see myself find these types of feelings again, even if I’ve lost them. Many of your posts have helped me reach this point. And all in just the last several weeks out of 6/7 years of LOA practice. So thank you so so much for your insight and how you get the message across. It’s resonating so well with me!
    You’re the best Kelli!

    1. Hey Corin
You are so right about information resonating and then us just forgetting. It is easy to get caught up in day to day living, and combined with our deeply ingrained habits and ways of thinking, it can fall out of our heads quite quickly. I find writing things down and putting them somewhere I can see them, or regularly reviewing some sort of list is helpful for that daily reminder to keep these things in mind.

I think anyone who wants to work on themselves is prone to trying lots of different things–on one hand, it’s good to learn about different things, try different techniques, but we always have to examine the mental space from where the desire is coming from. It is one thing to feel like we have gotten the most out of one thing and to move onto the next and another to always be searching for the ‘magic bullet’ that will put everything into place, or feeling a sense of anxiety in the work.

It’s natural to not be able to stay in that space for a super-long time, but each time you do, that positive momentum builds, and that is why you are finding it easier to go back there–there is a stronger pull being cultivated, and it isn’t as ‘far away’ as it may have been in the past.

I am so happy to hear the posts have been so helpful. That resonating is really key to deciding which books, blogs, coaches or whatever, to aid you in your journey.

  5. Very well written Kelli. The more we concentrate on thinking positive thoughts then I believe more positive things will come our way. The price of inaction is far greater than the cost of making a mistake.

I’m going to concentrate now on going to all of those beautiful places in your photos!

    Happy New Year,

    Jill

    1. Hi Jill
Thank you so much. So glad you liked it. You are so right about the inaction part. And, one thing I have come to realize as I have been more deliberate about creating my reality is that even things that appear to be ‘mistakes’ or that didn’t turn out like I expected them, were perfect for the moment because it was valuable in some way for forging our path. Perhaps it was there to show us some sort of block that is preventing what we want, giving us a sense of contrast to help us determine what we actually like and want, or giving us clarity in our next steps. That is a great intention to set. I spent some time in Berlin several years ago, and I really liked it a lot. One of my favorite cities in Europe. So much interesting history.
