When I first read about the ‘law of attraction,’ I liked it, I liked it a lot. I liked the idea that we could take an active part in molding our reality simply by feeling good, by feeling the things we want would come to us simply by believing such. It really resonated with me, and deep down, I knew there was truth to this concept.
I knew it was not just some deluded way of thinking that served as an escape from a ‘cruel, harsh world.’ I imagine a lot of people take this stance, and it is too bad because they are missing out.
Naturally, after reading something like this, I started thinking about all the crappy things that happen in the world—how did those things come about from an ‘attraction’ perspective? It can be hard to wrap your head around, and I’ll be frank with you: I really don’t understand this on the deepest level possible, and it isn’t necessary to get it to work in your favor. There are lots of great LOA teachers out there who can shed more light if you so desire to learn more. I highly recommend checking out the blog of Melody Fletcher for such purposes.
But, thinking about all that was slowing me down; while I am always up for gaining more insight into how this crazy world of ours works, trying to fully understand something until it makes sense to that ‘logical’ part of us can really put a damper on things. We can miss out on a lot of great stuff because it ‘doesn’t make sense,’ or because it can’t be ‘proven.’ You are reading a post like this now, because at least a small part of you, is interested in this whole attraction thang , so just go with it.
All I know is, I was interested in improving my life, and I had nothing to lose. I started following all the advice I came across, and my world started changing dramatically. Naturally, changing our way of thinking leads us to make different decisions, and there is certainly nothing mysterious and magical about that.
But, so many of the awesome things happening for me were in no way linked to any decisions I had made, or a direct result of any actions I had taken. They were the types of things we would label as amazing coincidences—but they aren’t coincidences, my dear.
I can only share what I know, and what things have worked for me in improving my life, and I know that if you give this concept a chance, and do the things you are told to do, your life will improve too.
So, if you are just getting into all this stuff, I implore you to keep an open mind, focus on the good stuff, and don’t worry about trying to figure out the entire world through the lens of this concept. You are interested in this because you want to be happier and improve your life, so let’s start with that, shall we?
When I think of all the things that I learned about this whole process, and what really helped me, it would not fit into one post, so I will cover it in parts spread over different posts. Here is your first installment.
Don’t Worry…You Don’t Need to Feel Good All the Time
When you first read about this concept, and the importance of your thoughts in getting the results you want, you may wonder..do I have to feel good all the time? Do I have to completely monitor the thousands of thoughts I have each day? Holy crap…that’s a lot of work!
But, have no fear. It is not necessary to try and control each and every thought you have…you would surely go mad. The better you feel, the faster and easier your manifestations will be, but, you can still get plenty of the good stuff without being manically happy and positive 24/7.
I speak from experience on this one…I have had plenty of awesome stuff happen to me because of my work with this concept, and I certainly had plenty of moments where I was not feeling good in the least. I really began this work seriously at a time in my life when things were not going so hot ( understatement alert), and very often, I was feeling either very depressed, extremely anxious, or just filled with a general sense of dread about what was going to become of me.
And I would get really stressed out in the beginning because anytime I started feeling doubtful or worried about a certain situation, I would get all mad at myself, and think I had ‘’undone’’ any progress I had made in my high energy moments.
As long as you are feeling more good than bad most of the time, you will start to see results. So, we are just aiming for at least 51 percent here..not too bad.
You Have to Start Feeling Good Before You ‘Logically’ Have Reason
Most people are drawn towards self-improvement because there is something in their life, well, they want to improve. Things aren’t going so great, and you would like to take a more active role in feeling better. You may feel like utter crap right now, or your world may be crumbling down around you. At the very least, you are dissatisfied with some aspect of your life, and want to make it better—maybe you have a job but want a better one, or have enough money to pay your bills, but would like more .
When we are really focused on what is lacking in our life, we get the idea we can’t possibly feel better until we acquire whatever it is we are seeking, and the worse we perceive our circumstances to be, the more strongly we believe this. We put our happiness on hold until some indeterminate point in the future when our ‘stuff’ finally arrives.
Well, since LOA is all about how we feel, and is working its magic right now, you have to find a way to feel good right now, even if that pesky, logical part of your being tells you otherwise. Like I mentioned before, it is okay if you are not flying on cloud 9 every second, but you need to raise your energy and try to feel as good as if what you wanted was already in your reality. Know what you want is coming, and start expressing gratitude for that right now.
Depending on what is happening in your life, this may be really, really, a million times really, hard. You may think it is impossible to feel happy now, but it is possible because I did it. Your ego is going to be screaming at you like a banshee that you are crazy….how can you possibly feel good when you just lost your job, you are broke as hell or you just got your heart ripped apart? You need to tell your ego to shut the f#$% up, and proceed as you were. So, when do we want to start feeling good boys and girls? Say it with me…right now!
So…there you have the first part of my tutorial on making LOA work for you. Digest, reflect, and get on with making the changes you desire. All you want is already yours, you just have to claim it.

That is why I liked to share my experiences and what has worked for me in hopes it will motivate other people to do the same. The ”how” really is the hardest part. The best advice I can offer for that is to ingest as much information about LOA as possible–the more you understand how it works, and the more empowering information you take in, the ”quieter” the logical part of your mind becomes and your faith strengthens. And, if you have ever had any thing happen in your life in an unexpected way, think back to those moments and remember them when you are feeling a bit doubtful and trying to figure out ”how”.

This is an excellent article because even if we had a bad day, we sometimes have to deal with it. The best way to do so is to give yourself at least a half hour break from your work and then come back and continue it.
Your mind will be then fresh and you will work faster!

So how am I feeling. Well I know I got debts and bills to pay and that I cannot afford the plane fair to Koh Lanta yet. But because of all the posts I have read over these past months (especially from you know who) I have a different mindset now and I know that I will be there soon and all my little debs are paid off!
