I am happy to bring you the helpful musings of my wonderful fiance Ryan Biddulph…if you want to know what it takes to get what you want out of life, no matter what that is, the information that follows is golden. Enjoy!
I feel blessed. At 10:49 PM on a Tuesday night I’m writing these words from Phuket, Thailand. My life is a dream. I travel, prosper online and most of all, I’ve found my match in Kelli. For those not in the know, I run a blog over at Cash With a True Conscience, detailing how I’ve traveled the world while living the internet lifestyle.
And for those not in the know, the author of this blog and I are engaged. A few hours ago we had an “aha” moment; why not post on each other’s blogs? Well I’m first; she owes me a guestie soon, and I’ll be on her for it lol! Anyway, how have we lived a seemingly dream life? Easy….
We Make Freeing But Uncomfortable Decisions
From the first time we told our family about our world travels right up to today, Kelli and I make freeing but uncomfortable decisions as a habit. We don’t hesitate, or worry endlessly, or hand our power over to anybody. No sir, no ma’am. If the decision is freeing, we make it.
Example; 3 years ago we both could have worked a job, to pay bills, or we could have started online businesses, to create a lifestyle of freedom, and unlimited wealth. We choose freedom, even though at times in the past, the path was a bumpy one. No worries. We’re here. Free.
We Deal with Strong Resistance
At one time or another, KC and I have faced strong resistance on all types of fronts. Our fam has been supportive in many cases, and in other cases, has been terribly against our choice to be free. Kelli’s dad passed away years before our trip, and although my mom is still around, she’s been diagnosed with a serious illness. Due to these situations, we’ve had to deal with some rough spots, for living the life we live…..so we deal with it, and cut through the resistance….in some cases like a hot knife through butter, in others, not so much, but we deal.
We Trust in Something Bigger than Us
I’m huge on God, or The Universe, being the grand orchestrator. So is Kelli. We’re big on doing what we gotta do to live this world traveling bit, then getting out of the way, and allowing The General Manager to handle the rest. Hey, we can only do so much, and think about so many channels, or ideas, through which we can manifest our neat places of lodging, or restaurants, yet the Universe knows an Infinite number of ways. We let the Universe handle the heavy lifting.
Example:Kelli loves banana shakes like I love Thai sweets. This means, we’re both freaking crack fiendishly addicted to these treats. Well, in our last stop, in Koh Lanta, a lady not FOUR houses down from our place set up a fruit shake stand after we were around for about a week. Yep she served banana shakes. This, in Koh Lanta, in the middle of nowhere. Crazy, how the Universe hooks you up when you let go.
Also, we’ve manifested either an adopted street pet or fostered someone else’s pet on every stop along the way, the Universe matching us up with the animals we so love. Neat, and all happens because we surrender.
We Work
Now, we don’t kill ourselves, or force things, or stress, or strain, or strive like animals, but Kelli and I put in man and woman hours daily, running our online empires as we travel the world. We fund our travels and build our savings and grow our investments while island-hopping, and it’s all because we don’t put our feet up and life a complete life of leisure. Gotta work folks, to make this happen.
We Took the Path Less Traveled
Funny…..when I share the life we live with new buds, or people I meet, they say I’m “lucky.” Nope; I just made a different set of decisions. Kelli and I chose to take the path less traveled, by deciding to:
- Travel all over the world
- Live the internet lifestyle
- Be free
- Run online businesses
- Deal with unsteady financial situations in the beginning
- Commit to mental science; that’s code for purging our limiting beliefs through affirmation and meditation and visualization and all that good stuff
We’re here, in Phuket now, and we’ll be traveling to Fiji in 23 days, because we chose to be here, then took steps like buying plane tickets, setting up housing, opening online income streams, working like hell on those streams, being open to change, and all that good stuff.
Guys, this gig is the dream. I never set an alarm unless I need to catch a flight, go to immigration, or talk to a friend or loved one. I work when I want to, and prosper, and cash in. I have seen some ridiculous stuff, and have done some ridiculous stuff, like petting tigers in Thailand, and feeding rare and endangered monkeys in Costa Rica, and seeing all sorts of weird and wonderful things in places like Bali, and Laos, and Kathmandu, Nepal.
What made it happen? A BLANKET, definite, clear decision to live this lifestyle. Kelli and I made this choice in late November, 2010. We were thinking Bali, then decided to live in Bali for a bit, and set no end date, and here we are, 3 years later with 36 months of globe-trotting under our belts.
Are you a globe trotter? If so, how did you make it happen? What dream are you trying to make a reality? What tips would you give to others doing the same?

Not a globe trotter yet but on my way to being one. TIP: All quests for freedom get resistance one way or the other. You just got to know what you want, decide to have it and do what it takes.
Nomusa, really simple, concise tips here. Know what you want, get after it, and knife through resistance as you embrace it. Thanks!
Ryan,
What an inspiring story. You have given me hope. I am single and would love to live like this. I know I have to know what I want and then go for it. Your story is inspiring and gives me hope that I can attain this same lifestyle. Thank you for sharing.
Nathaniel, you can do it! No matter the circumstances, deciding to do it, and knowing your WHY, drives you. Thanks!
Great post, Ryan. I have to say that you ARE lucky to have a partner who wants to share this kind of lifestyle with you. That’s a definite plus and extremely awesome! I’ve done some traveling in the past, no doubt will again in the future. I love seeing different parts of the world and think everyone should take the opportunity whenever they can. Thanks, Ryan!
Thanks Jeanne! I am certainly blessed to have attracted Kelli 😉
Ah, good to get this out of your system before kids (and with kids, if that’s your plan). My BIL and SIL were avid travellers together as well. Now they are new parents and I wonder how much travelling they plan to do for the next 18years. My dream is to be rich enough to travel. I’d love stay long enough to become fluent in the native tongue. I took my daughter to Korea when she was 4 yrs old. The plane ride was torture but the stay was easy breezy.
Korea, very neat Meredith, I’d love to visit. Thanks for commenting!
Hi Ryan and Kelli,
Oh yes Ryan – I know you well, and good to see you here too – glad you wrote about it all 🙂
I think this is one of your longest posts that I’ve seen…lol…good one indeed, and I do envy both of you!! I wish I could have done all that you are doing, and perhaps had my family and kids not been there as one gets bound down with their education and other things.
Wishing you both a lovely trip all around the globe, and I know you are having a good time – I keep seeing your pictures and videos, Ryan – awesome indeed!
Thanks for sharing more about yourselves – when do we hear the good news? 😉
Thanks Harleena 😉 Yep it was a long one lol…..marriage? Umm….when we can get our family members on a plane over to here hahahaha…..appreciate your support my friend, thanks again!
Ryan,
I am so happy for you and Kelli. You are living the dream. Now that I am retired I will soon start my RTW adventure.
My advice after 35 years of marriage is to give each other space when they need it and understand it’s a roller coaster and you will not always agree on the direction to take and have to learn to balance each other’s likes/needs.
Y’all are off to a great start and it seems you are already doing what I am talking about. Hope you have a long and happy relationship and get to see the entire world! #TravelOnAmigos
Mike
Hey Mike
So excited for you that you are about to start your trip..so much fun ahead. I think you gave great advice, and we do keep those things in mind as best we can 🙂 I look forward to your postings about your trip.
Mike, appreciate it! Spot on advice, and I’m deeply enjoying your blog too 😉 Thanks 🙂
Congratulations on 3 years traveling! My boyfriend and I have the same dream and are working hard everyday towards it. Some days it’s fun and good, some days it can get frustrating but I hope that in two years I’ll be able to write a post like this and be in your shoes one day! You’ve inspired me to keep working hard towards our dream.
Hi Samantha
Thanks so much. That is so awesome you guys have set that goal, and are actually working towards it–it is easy to keep something like this in the realm of fantasy and not take concrete steps towards realizing it. I understand the frustration..we definitely hit some rough patches along the way, but eventually things smoothed out. Mindset is so important. I have no doubt you will get to where you want to be. Keep that vision in your head, and before you know it, you’ll be on that plane!
Go for it Samantha!
I have not yet trotted the globe, but I have traveled all over the United States. I have only lived in 4 places in the US, but have visited all over.
I am ready to take this next step into island hopping and globe trotting! Same way I moved across the country I can move across the world. I decided. I made moves and didn’t let circumstances dictate whether I was going or not.
I said I was going and I went. Thanks Guys for being inspiring! <3
Hey Lauren
That is awesome you are ready to take that step..you won’t be sorry, that’s for sure. If you can find a way to make money online, anywhere can be a potential ‘home.’ It really is as simple as deciding, isn’t it?
Thanks Lauren, look forward to seeing you on the road 😉
Hi Ryan!
You know what, You and Keeli are so blessed with the kind of lifestyle you have in right now. I know a lot of people who aspire to do both traveling and working competitively at the same time, but they just don’t where and how to start. this topic only inspired them to reach and never give up on their dreams. Thanks for sharing this inspiration!
Hi Cristy
Thanks so much for your comment. I am glad you liked the article. We just hope what we share with others will help them achieve whatever they wish to do, whether it is travel or anything else. We started out just working regular jobs, etc…and ended up here through a series of choices, work on our mindset,etc.. It is possible for anyone.
Well done you two for having the faith to manifest the life you were meant to live. Free and creative and empowered! When we understand we are a part of something bigger than ourselves we can let go and trust that we will be supported in all we do. So pleased to connect with others who see through the illusions to the core truth of this wonderful gift of life. It’s so simple once you see it…
Hi Faith
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement. You are so right about that realization and the immense trust that it can bring…when we diminish the fear that what we want isn’t possible and that some force is supporting us and has the ability to orchestrate in a way we can’t even fathom, that can open up a whole new world for us. We let ourselves want things we may have not let ourselves before, and we can get excited about life. So glad you connected with us too and I am so glad you are enjoying the blog.
Wow, that tiger must be an awesome experience.
I also work, but I can travel only two times a year.
I think I can put aside some money and travel two or three months, then I come back to work again and after three months I restart the adventure.
