When I first got into law of attraction, the simplicity of it just seemed too good to be true. Ask and it is given. Just feel good and what you want is yours! I imagine this is why most people are quite skeptical of the concept. We are taught getting what we want takes a lot of hard work and sacrifice. We have to struggle a really long time before we get the rewards. We have to do a lot of thing we don’t want to get the things we actually do. We have a lot of beliefs and experiences that shout this is all a bunch of baloney. There is a lot of misunderstanding about what LOA really is.
So, with all that ‘stuff’ to contend with, it doesn’t always feel so easy. In fact, sometimes it can feel really hard. And everyone telling you how easy it is just makes you feel worse, and like some sort of LOA reject. We have a huge amount of momentum behind our negative beliefs and feelings, and just feeling better at the snap of a finger doesn’t always happen. Totally rewriting your whole belief system will not happen within a day, and that’s okay.
Here’s the thing..LOA really is that simple. The good old Universe doesn’t want to make us jump through a bunch of hoops so we can have more awesomeness in our life. But, it is a neutral force that can only reflect back to us what we are emanating from within. It’s not holding out on you because you are being punished, it doesn’t feel you deserve what you want, or that it thinks you should want something else instead.
Getting to the point where we can manifest more effortlessly though, can take a bit of time. There are various ‘nuances’ behind this basic concept of ‘ask and it is given’ that we need to familiarize ourselves with to really help us make those internal shifts. We need some help in getting into a mental space where we feel this truth on the deepest levels of our being, and where faith triumphs over fear and doubt (at least most of the time!)
I wrote a guest post for the wonderful Creative Sol Vibrations about four issues that can really get in the way when it comes to our work with LOA, and I decided to use today’s post as a lead in to that so that all my readers who are particularly enthusiastic about this type of content wouldn’t miss out on it.
So, head on over and check it out. Please leave me a comment there, or head back over here so we can have a chat. Let me know how your work is going with LOA, any tips you have for other ‘practitioners’ and any other thoughts you have on the subject. Happy manifesting!

I enjoyed the post, Kelli. I commented over there. 🙂
Thanks so much..will head over there now!
Thanks for sharing this perfectly clear summary of how LOA comes into conflict with people’s existing beliefs, and the power of momentum. The good news is, just as old momentum of limiting beliefs is self-generating until we learn how to stop it by generating new momentum around unlimited beliefs, once we get rolling in the right direction, that takes on a force of its own as well. It’s just the pivot that takes some conscious effort and deliberate intention. Then happiness just comes on auto-pilot.
Hey Indigo
Thanks so much. So glad you liked the post. You are so right..when we begin shifting, we can get more momentum behind the good beliefs and feelings. The more power behind that, the less farther away this mode of thinking is when we do have our moments of going down the old road. Great insights as always!
Hi KC,
Heading over to read, and Hazey Cat rocks!

Thanks!
Hey Kelli,
I think you nailed it with those different issues that can trip people up. In many ways I feel like there is a lot of new, fine-tuning thought going on about the law of attraction, and for me it’s made all the difference.
I especially wanted to give a shout out to the concept of honoring where you are now. If you connect that idea to the concept of, “Our only power exists in the now”, then by honoring where you are now it allows you to actually utilize your power to manifest. Put another way, honoring where you are now is actually giving yourself permission to feel the way that you do now, rather than fighting against it.
It can be easy to want to be somewhere else, but doing that only vibrates discord. One of the key disciplines of law of attraction is starting where you actually are, even though being in alignment is a lot more fun. What do you do to cut through your mental clutter of wanting to emotionally be somewhere that you aren’t?
Hey Chris
Thanks so much. You are so right–it is a continual process of fine tuning. As we go along, we can discover certain blocks or have to deal with new issues that crop up as we reach for something bolder. I am glad the honoring part resonated with you because I think that can be something people struggle with. They keep hearing how they need to feel good, and that can put a lot of pressure, especially if they are pretty far down the ladder vibrationally. That permission is crucial for initiating the shift. And as anyone who has worked with LOA knows, a perfect vibration is not necessary to start getting results–if it was, we would all be in big trouble!
For me, one of the best ways I work through those feelings is just pulling back and doing whatever I can to feel good. I especially remove myself from anything related to any particular manifestation I have my sights on. And, I just go into acceptance mode, where the burden lightens considerably. I know this mood will pass just like all the others.
Bookmarked! Mine is thinking too much about the past!
Hey Natalie
Thanks for stopping by. Glad you liked the post. I think that is a sticking point for most of us. It can be challenging to release on what has happened, and realize it is not relevant to what the future can be like for us. But, as we get into our work with LOA more, and our faith in the process grows, the truth that our past was merely a reflection of our old beliefs and feelings gets deeper and we can move on from it with greater ease. Good luck on your releasing..I am sure you are making more progress than you realize!
Hi Kelly I loved your article, and thanks for sharing it with the world…..
Thanks Dale!
