Learning about the law of attraction is, on one hand, a great thing, and on the other, can lead you down a road of obsessive attachment to certain desires. There is a lot of misunderstanding about how it really works and oh the suffering that can result from that.
We are led to believe if we just think about something enough, it will show up eventually. We think we always have to be thinking positively about this thing, and infusing our ‘wanting’ energy into our thoughts about it. And in doing all of this, detachment, and being open to other manifestations that may be even better, becomes a hell of a lot harder.
Today’s podcast will give you some pointers on how not to care about what manifests…in a good way, not in a who-gives-a-crap-life-sucks-way or in a ‘spiritual’ way where we are encouraged to murder our egos and not want anything at all.

Aaaah this detachment thing is so hard! I just had a minor melt down. For the last months I have been feeling so good, and then today a couple of things happened and I just totally lost it. And my reaction was so much worse than what it should have been so it’s obvious I have a big bunch of resistance going on. I KNOW I’m overreacting but I can’t help it. I feel like I’m so close to this thing, this life I want, but I just can’t reach it. Like I’m literally looking at it behind a big glass screen, so close, but out of reach. I know there is a way to go around it, over it, or just make the screen disappear but I JUST CAN’T SEE HOW TO DO IT! I know I need to relax and let it go but…. oooooh I’m so close!! I want to sak “fuck it” but I just can’t seem to let go.

You are right…it can be. Our mind makes very good arguments as to why we need certain things, why we need to worry and how it is up to us to figure it all out. That reaction was really good because if you really were achieving that higher vibration more consistently, whatever would keep you from it would have to come up and when that happens, it tends to be intense. It is good to allow all of those emotions..don’t suppress because you want to keep being ‘positive.’ They are all just messengers. It sounds like frustration is the big emotion and I find that it tends to crop up before a big breakthrough, whether it is a manifestation or some sort of clarity that will lead us in the right direction.
thank you for this, yes, it resonates me, it happens many times that when I no longer care things what or when to manifest it is when it manifest real fast.

That lack of resistance is really key, I think more important than our ‘positive’ energy we work on creating around what we want. Caring so much and noticing the absence so much is a really powerful energy and when we release it, so much can make its way in.

Thanks for your comment and I am glad you enjoyed the podcast. I am never one to hold back on the more ‘saltier’ language…words are just words to me. When we can be more relaxed about what has to manifest, that is when the good stuff can really start to make its way in.
