As always, a podcast comes for me just at the right time. I’ve started a new job. There were so many reasons why I left my old job, but during the first few days, I’ve almost been reminiscing about my old job because, wondering if moving to a new place of employment is the right decision. Although morale was really bad etc, it was familiar, I knew what I was doing, how things worked.
Now, at a new place, it’s uncomfortable, new systems, new people, even going from a regular laptop to a MacBook is uncomfortable.
This podcast is telling me that it’s OK to feel uncomfortable, to not know and needing to learn. I just need to feel uncomfortable for a while.

Thanks for your comment and so glad the podcast was timely and helpful. Like you have experienced, familiarity can really keep us anchored to situations even if we don’t like them–we are used to all the negative feelings and better to just keep dealing with that then venture into something new where we have no idea what awaits us. The more we understand about how our mind works the easier it is to not let it dominate our lives, and even though we will be uncomfortable doing these things, we feel more confident making these decisions. Good for you for making a positive change in your life…it is often easier said than done!
