Podcast #118: Law of Attraction: You Know But Do You ‘Do?’
Life Made to Order

This post (as usual) was right on point. I am currently in a hotel room working a job for one of my contracts. My soul is not in it and last night I tossed and turned and woke up in tears due to this decision. You see the event is not bad at all but the place from which I made the decision is tearing me up inside. Since working on the LOA and getting therapy I can no longer do what I used to do and be ok. Something or someone in me is finally coming to life and speaking up. It is great but also scary at the same time. I will finish my obligation because it is the right thing to do but going forward my choices will be different. This choice was made based on fear and old patterns of thinking.
Michelle – so deeply appreciative of your comment and sharing so honestly. This wonderful podcast has really challenged me – in a good way – but I can feel lots of ‘hurt’ parts in me that finds the kind of faith required so humungously SCARY! But I realise there’s no choice really if I want to take this seriously. I have to move to a new rental – it will be my 24th move in 9 years and I’ve been on the cusp of homelessness for so long now that I am worn down to the ground by this process. But now I have doubts that the new place I’m going to is a form of “out of the frying pan and into the fire!” because of having listened to this podcast. It’s much better than were I am (which is awful!) but there are a few things that make me uneasy. I wonder what the difference is between “settling” or not taking something because of perfectionism?
Hi Sam
It is scary for sure, and we may not execute this ‘perfectly’ all the time, especially when we first start trying to consciously act and think in this different way. If it were easy, we would already have been operating like this our whole lives. You are so right that we really don’t have a choice if we want to commit to living this way. It is just hard because we often have to make these decisions before they feel totally comfortable, before we really have any ‘evidence’ doing things this way is better or more beneficial. Our mind uses current and past experience to guide our thinking and behavior, and once we understand the role of energy in shaping our reality, how it is the precursor to everything, we see how this way of operating is problematic and can’t be justified any longer. If you are moving in the right direction, and your current situation is an improvement, then that is a step in the right direction and give yourself credit for the manifestation. And if you want something better than you have now, you can manifest that too. Remember it isn’t this one shot deal where we only get one chance to create what we want. As for your last question, that is only something that can be answered by going within–only we know what we truly want, what is driving our decisions, etc…With honest assessment of that, things that seem unclear or confusing to us actually really aren’t.
Thank you Kelli for your wise and experienced counsel. This morning, this quote from Anita Moorjani popped up on my Facebook feed: “When I am willing to step into the realm of uncertainty and ambiguity, I open myself up to infinite possibilities.”
Sam, you were in my thoughts and prayers.
Hi Michelle
Don’t beat yourself up too much. We have been deeply instilled with lots of fears and limited ways of thinking, and that is not something we just shed completely overnight. In theory it is possible, but in reality it is more of a process. It is good you have a greater awareness of what energy was behind the decision, and with this awareness, you can make greater efforts moving forward to act from a different space. Like you said, all these changes you are experiencing internally will no longer allow you to operate how you were previously, and making that transition can be uncomfortable. But embrace the discomfort and you’ll be fine
That is so very kind of you Michelle – really touched. Well, I’ve decided to go ‘hold out in faith’ regarding this new room by not committing to it, and have pursued other leads. On the surface, this is madness and I don’t know how long it will take for these other leads to show whether they’re fruitful or not. But all I know is that I’m now feeling quite uneasy about this ‘new’ place (despite there being mostly ‘nice’ things about it), and a thought struck me today – that what I feel good about (about ‘not’ going forward with this place) is that I am demonstrating to myself that I really do care about myself and that I really do want the best for myself – that just feels so good and it feels a lot ‘truer’ and more comfortable than just going for this place. I also found out later today that my landlord doesn’t need me out so quickly – in fact I have around six months to go. I’ll definitely be going sooner than that but it’s good to know there is that leeway.
So thank you for your inspiration with your ‘revelation’.
Thank you for this Michelle. It was a good reminder for me to only take inspired action instead of doidoing things out of fear. It is true that you will be unhappy with the manifestation if so.
On point post Kelli and same theme for me Sam and Michelle. Its the scariness of actually living with complete faith and trust. Like this old dilmemma: quit a job you hate to pursue a passion but your mind then going..”will I find work? What if I get no clients and then my money runs out?” Its 100% know it for me, about 20% do it >.<
Hi Claudette
Being human, we may never be operating truly at 100 percent capacity all the time. I know I don’t! We have a mind, it sees the world very differently and it will never not do what it does. It is scary but over time, you get more comfortable with the fear, the discomfort and the uncertainty because you know if your energy is aligned and you do trust at least MOST of the time, things have no choice but to work out. The key is being open to how this all unfolds and what it looks like, doing our best to reserve judgment on manifestations that our mind will want to label as ‘bad’. The negative feelings may still be there, the worrisome thoughts may still be there, but they lose the emotional ‘charge.’ And even when you do feel that ‘charge’ there is that part of you that is calm, knows it is okay, and you don’t lose total connection with that.
Exactly Claudette….because sometimes (in my experience) the Universe gives you the ‘next best thing’ as a step *towards* your ‘perfect’ vision. In other words, the journey is incremental rather than jumping off a cliff. I suppose the answer is how does it all ‘feel’ but the dimension I wrestle with the ‘feeling’ aspect is that my central nervous system is shot with tension because of (as yet) unresolved trauma, which keeps you orientated in the amygdala – the ‘primitive’ brain – which is all about survival (fight, flight, freeze).
But I know people have made the journey/transition from one state of being to another so I have to keep hope/faith for myself…. too.
Yes, and part of that Sam is not being too hard on yourself in the process, build your faith and trust in increments if that feels better
Hi Claudette
Great advice about not being too hard on ourselves. While our mind might think criticism and beating ourselves up is somehow good motivation for making these changes, it has the exact opposite effect. With this journey, it is all too easy to focus on what still needs to be ‘fixed’ within, what still hasn’t shown up yet, but it is important to note our progress energetically and our wins.
Thank you Kelli, very wise and insightful words, which help with building positive and focused energy:)
Very wise words here! You are very right…it is often incremental. You will absolutely succeed. Anyone is capable of making these changes, no matter their way of thinking, no matter their personality, no matter their past and current experience. This energy already exists within, we just have to peel away at what is obscuring it. It is not something absent within you that you are then responsible for creating on your own.
Thank you for your encouragement Claudette.
You are very welcome Steven. Welcome to the Conscious Creators club! Definitely one you want to be a part of.
