Podcast #110: Law of Attraction: Is Just Believing What You Want is Possible Enough?

The law of attraction is a pretty straightforward teaching–your beliefs will determine what shows up in your life. So, if you believe what you want is possible, is that all you need to manifest it? Technically yes, but there are some other elements we need to take into account energy-wise.

  1. Well said.

Theory is theory. Real world is real world. I have seen clarity being the chief weapon in the manifesting arsenal, because we do have much more going on at a deeper level, than we are aware, in virtually all cases.

This means that as you grow, you delve into fears you were unaware of. As you delve into the fears and feel them, you get clearer. As you get clearer you see that the belief in your ability to manifest something wasn’t as clear as you thought.

Example; folks who speak of instantly manifesting stuff (partner, car, home, dream business, dream trip) advise that the level of clarity and belief in receiving the manifestation instantly should be consistent with the level of clarity and belief you have when picking up a glass of water and drinking it. As the glass travels from table to mouth, do you doubt it will reach your lips? Nope. Automatic process. Clarity and belief it will happen, no doubts.

But for most stuff we want to manifest, it takes time to get clearer on allowing in ideas and moving into inspired, fun actions, and allowing in the experience you wish to align up. Doubts fear and all lacks of clarity pop up, and we need to feel and dissolve these beliefs. Takes a lot of clearing, as it should, because that is where the fun is; in the experience of becoming.

    Thanks for the rocking share.

  2. Hey Kelli!!!
I love your blogs and podcasts, I hope you know I always come back and catch up on the latest Kelli-isms every few weeks! :)))

I love what you said about the “reality” of manifesting. You touch on that from time to time, it is so true!
When it comes down to our daily experiences and moments it is so different/hard/crazy to “be” what you think you want to believe…and especially once you realize that “faking it til you make it” isn’t really applicable to the LOA since we can’t trick the universe.

I find that most of the stuff the most people want are going quite well for me all the way to going spectacular for me! Money, health, relationships – and I’m so glad for these things, in many ways I’m living the dream, right?
But its like the internal stuff is what I keep struggling with, like I continue to get frustrated with myself over and over and yell at myself in my head for not “being” a certain way.
I created this idea of the “perfect version of myself” and every morning when I hit snooze for the 5th time and then rush around trying to get my shit together I begin my day disappointed in myself for not measuring up to what my mind thinks I should be like…(waking up at 4am meditating and doing yoga until the sunrises…hahaha but that’s just not anywhere close to where I am currently)

And then a very wise man told me (my non-LOA inclined hubby): you need to accept it, why are you trying to be something you’re not, you’re perfect just the way you are…
So…maybe I could get up earlier if I didn’t stay up til midnight surfing the internet and binging on LLMTO podcasts lol but that’s not really the point…right?
Anyway I am glad you’re doing well! Keep these podcasts coming I love to hear your take on things. Seriously no one has this “real” of a perspective on the LOA that you always do :)))

    1. Hi Summer
I loved this comment and I think your struggle is one lots of people can relate to. It might be helpful to think of just one thing you want to do differently and focus your energy on that. For me, for example, I was thinking about how I wanted to nurture my body more and I felt inspired to start doing yoga, and I have done it every morning for the past six weeks or so. And that has naturally led to other changes that I didn’t even have to ‘try’ to make. Also, not sure if you are aware, but Ryan and I are doing a new call series all about the theory vs. reality issue. Might be something you are interested in.

      1. Totally interested!!! Already signed up 😉
I was actually listening to the self sabotage one from last year…I think that may be a root cause of a of mental drama

        1. Yes, I saw that! Very excited that you will be a part of the class. Self-sabotage is a biggie, and one of those ‘cliched’ perspectives that we can easily dismiss because we hear it so much, but it is usually one of these basic, common issues rather than something more ‘complicated’ at least as the primary ‘culprit.’

  3. Hello Kelli,

    Great shout over here 🙂

Believing of higher goals is indeed a good thing to do, but we need to be ready to face the challenges that would come in the
way of getting that thing to bring in action. Nothing just happens just by thinking and sitting in our comfort zone.
We need to work and work until the things which we desired for comes true.

Manifesting things do need time, it won’t happen instantly. People think that they can achieve what they wish for
instantly, yeah if some one is extremely good then also it take him years to get what he wish out for.

    Thanks for the share.

    Shantanu.

    1. Hi Shantanu
Thanks for your great comments as always–stepping outside our comfort zone is a non-negotiable! But if we can get comfortable with the discomfort we are unstoppable!

  4. I have looked at your blog and I feel everyone is looking for answers that you are providing tools. I work in the mental health field and i find that a common questions and clients want answers is how to feel love, be in love and be an authentic self. We get so caught up on what we are supposed to be like, feel, see and look. I wonder as someone who gives these perspectives do you ever have times where these beliefs do not work?? or and if so do you just stick to the universal attraction and believe what is what is…. if you know what i mean? I just wonder if you have had a bigger problem.. such as traumatic in your life how you handle such….. love to hear your comment! have a wonderful day.

    1. Hi Nicole
I wouldn’t say that the beliefs don’t ‘work.’ The real issue is our resistance to believing these things,to really acting from this space, no matter how much we want to. This resistance comes in many forms, from not having much evidence in our own life that they are true, to issues like you mentioned–doing and being what we think we ‘should.’ So we continue to act from our ingrained patterns, etc…further
‘proving’ the limited ways of thinking. Ultimately we can believe whatever we want, but if we believe things that feel badly, it is worth considering perhaps these things aren’t true.

  5. This podcast resonates SO much with me.. The unworthiness.. Yes, why should I have this and that when so many have nothing.. yes, it can be a well hidden block, at least it surprised my big time, and withheld me from receiving what I had always dreamt of.. or is the truth that I actually didn’t want this manifestation after all? please feel free to comment this one, I feel rather confused..

    1. Hi Buffy
I wouldn’t be able to say as an ‘outsider’ how you truly feel about the things you want to manifest–only we can know what is going on in our energy, what we are thinking, etc…But it is possible that sometimes we may not actually want the thing we have wanted–we thought we did but then when presented with the opportunity realize that wasn’t really ‘it.’ Or like I am pretty sure I mentioned in the podcast–don’t remember exactly all the points–we may not want the thing because we may have a negative association with getting it so even if we consciously want it, a bigger part of us doesn’t. So these are two things to explore and you will likely get some good insight into how you really feel about the thing you want.
