Law of Attraction: Keeping Your Vibe High When ‘Nothing’ Seems to Be Happening

Even though we know we are not supposed to pay attention to outside appearances when working with law of attraction, we just can’t help it sometimes. We got into this whole manifesting game to create a different reality for ourselves, so when said reality doesn’t seem to be materializing, we can start getting a bit discouraged, impatient and perhaps majorly pissed.

Keeping it up energetically starts to feel like more of a challenge. It can be hard to maintain our warm fuzzy feelings just for the sake of it, without having some outside reason to feel better.

Getting how attraction works in theory is a great start, but feeling these truths to the core of our being is more of a gradual process.

When the things we want still haven’t shown up, that bastard brain of ours jumps in with all sorts of thoughts, questions, fears and doubts that can rapidly take the wind out of our sails.

We start to backslide energetically; the old ways of thinking may come back with a vengeance. We may feel compelled to start taking more action, and not the inspired, light kind, but the crappy kind that just brings out even more out of alignment.

How we handle these moments can make or break our manifesting. Okay, not really. You won’t totally stop a manifestation when you really want something, but you can slow down its arrival considerably.

Here are just a few of my top tips for keeping up your vibration when ‘nothing’ seems to be happening.

Manifesting is Kind of Like Planting a Garden

So, you have this desire, and you are working on becoming a match to it. You are trying to nurture that higher vibration by doing things that make you feel good, and pulling back from things that don’t make you feel good—you are doing the latter right loveys?

You work on building that positive momentum by flowing some good-feeling energy towards what you want in the form of visualizing and various techniques and by working on just feeling good overall and building that sense of trust.

You haven’t forgotten how powerful that last point is I hope..remember all techniques are a means to an end, and you don’t have to always be ‘doing’ something to bring about your manifestation.

And all of this warm, fuzzy energy is helping shape your reality to your liking.

But, when things aren’t happening as quickly as we would like them to, we start getting all bent out of shape. It can be hard to be patient when trying to create your dream life..you just want your stuff already and are sick of the current state of affairs.

I get it. And this is where we can really muck things up.

If you can remember that manifesting is kind of like planting a garden, you’ll be more comfortable during periods where there isn’t much happening on the outside.

You have a seed and you put it into the ground. You water it when you are supposed to, and provide the optimal conditions. And as such, that seed is germinating. It is forming itself into the plant that will eventually poke through the ground.

There is a lot going on beneath the surface you can’t see…so long as the seed keeps getting the support it needs to grow, it will grow. It may look like nothing is happening from our perspective, but plenty is happening.

That is what is happening with manifestations—you are giving them the energy they need to come into the physical reality and as long as you are doing that, all sorts of shit that we can’t even conceive of is being orchestrated by the Universe to help bring it to us at the perfect time and in the best way possible.

Just like that seed is surely germinating under the ground, our manifestations are coming together in the unseen.

Just like the seed won’t instantly turn into a plant, some of the things we want to manifest can’t just come into our reality tomorrow. The energy just isn’t there yet, and we are working on it.

What we want exactly may not have been created yet, like that awesome job that an awesome company is currently preparing to put on offer, and will be just what you want.

It is so easy to get discouraged because we are not seeing any outside indicators what we want is coming, or that our specific desire has not manifested yet.

But if you feeling good about what you want (at least most of the time), have been taking inspired action when it strikes that feels nice and light, and are just embodying the feelings now that you think you would experience from having whatever it is you want, just like that seed is surely growing and will eventually turn into a plant, so will your desire come into the physical form.

Identify the ‘Ick’ Triggers

Nothing seems to be happening, and you’re not feeling great. We are so used to living reactively and basing our emotional state on what is happening outside. We need a reason to feel good. We need some sort of ‘proof’ we are on the right track, and lacking it, we start feeling crappy.

Now while this seemingly stagnant period may be the primary contributing factor, there are likely a variety of other factors that intensify these feelings of doubt and that what you are doing isn’t ‘working.’

It will be very helpful to identify these triggers and see what can be done to either eliminate them, reduce their intensity or whatever.

Start tuning into your everyday experience and see what is making you feel badly about the prospects of your manifestation coming to fruition, that is making you feel badly about yourself in some way.

Are you trying to manifest more success with your business, and you feel crestfallen when you check your email and there are no inquires about your services or notifications of a new sale? Do you have a tendency to check it every 10 minutes, which means you are experiencing this crappy feeling dozens of times a day? You probably want to work on visiting your inbox fewer times a day.

Do you find it hard to stay positive about improving your finances when your spouse or someone close to you is constantly complaining about money, the bad economy, the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer, and the like?

When our vibration around a particular area of life is still not super stable and we are working on clearing out all the crap that is getting in the way of our manifestations, the last thing we want to do is deal with other people’s crap on top of it. That just triggers all our shit and breathes new life into it. Do whatever you can to avoid these conversations.

When you become more aware of what is messing with your vibration, and then take the appropriate steps to rectify the situation, you’ll feel better more of the time. It will be easier to feel better.

Getting into a higher vibing space won’t feel as much of as struggle because you are being assaulted with fewer things that threaten to drag you back down.

This is important to do all the time, but it is doubly important in these times when you are feeling discouraged because ‘nothing’ seems to be happening. You are especially vulnerable right now and you want to remove as many negative influences as possible. You want to do all you can to maintain a perspective that serves you, that doesn’t chip away at the trust that is already wearing a bit thin right now.

Turn to Focusing Techniques that Work for You BUT Don’t Force It

Like I have mentioned many times before, affirmations and other techniques that help us focus on what we want in a positive way and flow some good energy towards what we want, are just a means to an end. They don’t have any power in and of themselves.

We don’t NEED to do them, but because of our limiting beliefs, fears, distorted self-image, shit ton of negative momentum, very little positive momentum, limited experience focusing positively and what have you, they are going to play an important role for most of us in this manifesting process.

We are usually going to need to do something to get our attention on what we want in a positive way, and break apart the thought patterns and beliefs that are not serving us. This is where visualizing, affirmations, vision boards and the myriad other techniques you find, factor into the equation.

Doing them can be a great way to raise our vibration and shift perspective. And they can really come in handy during these times when outside appearances are making you feel doubtful, impatient and all other kinds of yuck.

I highly recommend turning to the ones that work for you when you are starting to get a bit freaked because ‘nothing’ seems to be happening. They can get you back on track, and help you redirect your focus and your energy. They are great for weakening the doubt, lack of trust, fear and impatience.

But, again, they have no power in and of themselves, so don’t force yourself to do them if you aren’t feeling drawn to them in the moment.

Because these techniques will obviously involve focusing on what we want, they may not be the best move when you are feeling really irritated, dejected, or sick of doing all this ‘work.’

In these moments, you are better off doing something that has no direct correlation to your manifestation or manifesting in general. You don’t want to make yourself think about what you want when it feels really badly.

Remember this ‘work’ is about shifting emotion. We have a tendency to intellectualize the process and as such, we can get really hung up on techniques, and what we can ‘do’ to move things along.

Again, they are super helpful and will usually be a necessary aspect of the process for most of us at various points on our journey, particularly in the beginning. But, mere rote performance of them, without generation of any genuinely positive emotion, is not going to do anything.

You have to be careful in moments like this..this is where those urges come in to try and force and control. You’ll start getting that itch to make things happen. You’ll worry you haven’t been trying hard enough and you’ll throw yourself into the work from a really counterproductive space.

Remember the Universe can only respond to your vibration. It can’t reward you based on the action you are taking or because you are being a good little manifestor and doing all the techniques that you are ‘supposed’ to do to change your energy and belief system.

It can’t give you what you want because you are a good person who ‘deserves’ it, if you are not a match to receiving it. This force is neutral..it is not judging, evaluating, deciding or anything else us humans do.

So yeah, I am a fan of turning to our tried and true focusing techniques in these times because they can shift our energy nicely, help remind us of how our reality is really created ,and get us back in touch with the powerful truths we know, but have still not quite permeated our being on the deepest levels.

But again, don’t make yourself do these things if you aren’t really feeling it. Go do something that will actually make you feel better.

In Closing…

Let’s face it…we are making big ass shifts here as I have said many times before. We get how LOA works in theory and we feel there is a truth there, but as we all know, we just don’t buy in full bore right out the gate. Lots of resistance getting in the way, and we have to work on overcoming it.

It takes a bit to shift our beliefs. We don’t fully trust this is how reality gets created. There are certain things we want so badly and it is hard to feel all detached and cool as a cucumber about it. We have expectations. We get attached to certain outcomes.

This stuff happens with each and every person who begins working to consciously create their reality. You are certainly not alone in your struggles. You are not deficient in any way or incapable of making the shifts necessary to get what you want.

I find myself saying these things a lot when closing up my LOA posts and with good reason…the repetition is what is necessary to help us remember these important nuggets. It is so crucial we go easy on ourselves and don’t get super critical..that just slows everything down like you have no idea.

When you start judging outside appearances, you are not fully trusting and it’s understandable. Just acknowledge where you are right now and let yourself feel your feelings. Do whatever you can to get into a better feeling space, but don’t force it.

What beliefs and feelings are coming up for you? How do you think you can shift them?

Going back to the basics of law of attraction can really help, no matter how much you understand it already—we can never over condition the mind to accept these truths more fully.

And remember that seed analogy. Plenty is happening..we just can’t perceive it, but it’s happening.

Your Turn…

What did you think of this post? Do you find yourself going into a bit of panic mode or getting frustrated when it seems like nothing is happening? How do you deal with these moments? What part of the post resonated with you the most? Looking forward to your comments as always.

  1. I really love your seed analogy. Lot of things are happening in the background. But, we don’t pay any notice to all those wonderful things. Ya, our manifestations are coming together without our notice. We just have to be patient for realizing our true dreams
I completely agree with your e-mail example. Earlier, I had also a habit of checking mails for any notifications. Now, I usually fix the time for my emails.
Whenever I find myself in a panic mode, I always look forward to my basic goal. There are always ups and down. But, we have to respect every phase of life.
Thanks Kelli for this wonderful post. Lots of love

    1. Hi Yatin
You are right that we don’t pay attention to all the ‘little’ things that show us we are lining up more with what we want. We can get so focused in on the final outcome and feel like nothing is happening because that specific thing didn’t happen yet. And we throw our energy out of alignment and close off things that might make us just as happy, or even happier. I love what you said about respecting the different phases..they are all serving a purpose. Great insights!

  2. Hi Kelli,
I am a new follower of your blog and have been enjoying your posts and your interviews with your husband. I have been following Abraham-Hicks for about 5 years now and I appreciate that you are totally in line with Abraham teachings also. When I saw this post it was a message that I really needed. I can see that I have made tremendous headway in creating a really good reality for myself- in that I feel good emotionally most of the time, I live in a nice place, have a new car, good job, blah, blah, blah… I listen to Abe a LOT on YouTube and read a lot of positive blogs (like yours) and feel positive most of the time. For the most part I am very aware of my thoughts and am consciously directing them toward good stuff. I don’t typically mindlessly think about crap, I don’t watch news, or talk crap about any given situation. I am generally positive, upbeat and moving forward. But then, every once in a while I wake up in the morning and feel really discouraged that I have not been able to manifest the life I really want. (Lots more MONEY.) Today was one of those mornings. It’s almost a physical feeling of negativity and doom. A “this is never going to happen for me” sensation. Then I start to doubt and wonder if there is something in my energy that I am not even aware of that is stopping the manifestation. And if I’m not aware of it, I can’t fix it. I appeal to Source for guidance and answers but nothing comes… except your post. 🙂 You mention in your post “becoming aware of what’s messing with your energy”. How do I do that? I don’t see anything really obvious. I do have to admit, I feel much better after reading today’s post. And maybe it’s just a matter of hanging in there, keep on keeping on, and waiting for the seed to do its thing. Because my goal is to create more money flowing into my life, a lot more, I feel like I need some evidence that it’s happening – manifesting even a LITTLE more money. Instead, I manifest a situation where I LOSE money from my account in a mix-up with my tax payment to the IRS and haven’t been able to get the money returned. That feels so typical of where I am. And it’s very frustrating! On the other hand, I manifested 2 new (free) tires for my car- which is about equal to the amount that was taken by the IRS. UGH! I really want to win the lottery, retire from working (I’m 60 yrs old) and travel the world. Is that so much to ask? A castle or a button. 🙂 Any input you can offer is appreciated. Feel free to email me directly.
Thank you for all that you are doing to further the LOA practice and utilization!
    Donna

    1. Hi Donna
So glad you are enjoying the blog. I am glad the teachings resonate with you. I am very familiar with Abraham-Hicks but have not actually gone into the teachings too in depth. I have watched some videos on Youtube and I really enjoy them. Anyhoo…
There are a couple of things I would say.
      1. It is great you acknowledge the headway you made…we often don’t do that. We are super hard on ourselves, and miss all the manifestaions and fail to see how much we have shifted our energy and belief system. Sure, we’re not perfect, no one is.

      2. I live in a nice place, have a new car, good job, blah, blah, blah…This really stood out to me because one of the reasons we have trouble letting more money into our life is because we don’t fully acknowledge all the abundance we have now. There can be a reluctance to let ourselves feel like we are abundant if we just have the ‘basics’ that most people have like the nice house, car,etc.. We have a really high standard of living and can lose sight of how good we may already have it because we want more. And it’s totally okay to want more. But, you need to really start appreciating those things more genuinely if you want to get some more energy flowing in the money department. You may have been joking a bit about that part, but that is something that is a big issue for a lot of us.

      3. That feeling just coming over you at times is normal and we all experience that sometimes..lets face it, we dont fully trust in this stuff, and though we work a lot on shifting energy and beliefs, old thinking lingers. Money has a lot of baggage..we are contending with larger cultural beliefs as well as beliefs borne of our own experiences..there are lots of layers of conditioning to work through.

      4. The best way to find out what is messing with your energy is tuning into your experience more deeply—when you start feeling badly, ask yourself what may have contributed? For example, you may that watching reality tv shows about people with money make you feel badly about your abilty to manifest it or trigger negative feelings about people who have money.

      5. The best way to let more money into our lives is focusing on what the money represents to us, what we want to do with it, and find ways to create the feelings that lie behind it NOW…focusing on money itself usually won’t help because there is not a lot of emotion that can be generated—positive emotion at least—by just thinking about money.

      6. The tire manifestation was interesting because it shows you are lining up with abundance..just not in the way you want, which is actual money. That can come too, but be open to the things you want coming in a different way or that you can find a way to live the life you want but without as much money as you think..for example, housesitting while traveling where you get to live somewhere for free.

I think you are on the right track but you are not giving yourself permission to feel good now…that doesn’t mean liking things you don’t like or giving up on what you want. It simply means finding a perspective that actually makes you feel abundant now. It won’t cancel the order..the Universe knows what we want, even more than we do.

  3. I love this seed/garden analogy! But my overactive brain resists, saying “but you still have to water the plants! And you have to figure out how much water to give what type of plant, because each plant needs a different amount, and different frequencies … everything affects everything else so you have to make the right choices to get the right sequence going …” I know that’s contrary to LOA … but boy is it hard to move energy and trust intuition when you can’t tell the difference between your feelings and intuition, between your brain and your gut. To keep on the garden metaphor, your intuition might be telling you to water the plants … but then your rational brain tells you not to. You might not need to give the same amount of water during a different season … there are so many variables. And I know we don’t need to act re-actively (ie, not watering the plants until the dirt is dry) but we can’t be too proactive either (ie, watering the plants then watering them again as soon as the earth absorbs the liquid, like an effort in being proactive or something) … which means our hands are so often tied… If nothing is happening, I realize that stuff is still happening … but if all we can control is our actions/choices … wouldn’t a little bit of strategy also behoove us? If we want to get results? (and yes, I realize I have a problem with patience 😉

    1. Hi Sara
That lovely brain of ours…means well, but it can be a real thorn in our sides sometimes! Like you said, this way of thinking is not very “LOA” but we are just so conditioned to take control, figure things out and be involved in every step, it can be hard to just shut that all off and let our feelings guide us through our work with the principles. One of the best ways to distinguish your intuition from what your brain is telling you is examining how the information is making you feel, and what is motivating the actions and decisions that are surfacing. Our intuition is always guiding us towards the direction of ease, joy and things that just feel right no matter how ‘strange’ or impractical it may seem. Our brain is usually telling us to do the things that we may not want to do but feel we ‘have to’, the primary motivator is fear or feeling a need to control.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to take actions and participate in the process, but you just have to examine the energy behind the components of the strategy and make sure you are not getting attached to certain outcomes or your manifestation coming through a certain channel.

Patience is not a virtue of mine either!

      1. This is such important, valuable advice. Thank you so much. I am such a “go-getter” and “human DOing” (instead of human BEing) that this is a huge mental and metaphysical shift for me. But it’s one I want to work hard on. It just goes against everything I am – ha! My intuition wants what’s best for me, I know that has to be true. I am so used to “doing what I need to get what I want…” It’s so hard to let go of the expected channel/outcome. But I’m trying to listen — and feel — my energy. I definitely am starting to feel that fear and control are the basis for a lot of my mental paralysis. I just wish I was better at just doing what I want because it feels right. rather than because it’s one big chess game I’m playing with my head. It’s so hard to break down those blocks we put up in our own minds … but you are so right. It can be uncomfortable/weird AND the right decision … not because it’s the most logical one, but because it’s what that nagging thing inside keeps yelling.

        1. Hi Sara
This work can be challenging for anyone but particularly so for people like yourself who are very action-oriented. The good news is, you can still take plenty of action if you enjoy it, just watch the energy behind it. For example, if you get lost in a project for 12 hours but it feels great, nothing wrong with that type of action. You probably won’t be able to just adopt this line of thinking immediately and that’s okay. You will adopt it more in degrees and just don’t beat yourself up when your mind gets the best of you, and you take ‘uninspired’ action in an attempt to control outcomes…happens to everyone.

You will get better and better at hearing and heeding your intuition.

  4. Hi Kelli,

This post came at the perfect time…I’ve been feeling a little down/discouraged about not seeing the physical results I wanted. Even though I feel I’m on the right path vibrationally, feel good most of the time, the perceived lack of physical manifestations makes me question if I’m “doing things right” so to speak.

I remind myself that there is something really, really wonderful in store for me. All the universal co-components are coming together, and when the time is right, I will be beyond thrilled and delighted. It will be clear why there was this seeming delay. Although at times I can feel jealous of the success of others in my reality, it just means that mine is getting nearer and will be absolutely perfect for me. Everything is unfolding perfectly, all in divine timing. Things are coming together behind the scenes, and it feels good to trust and know that I’m doing fine and that nothing has gone wrong. Not to be so hard on myself, I don’t have to be perfect. I can take it easy, relax and keep enjoying life now. It feels good to self-soothe 🙂

    1. Hey Christelle
Thanks for your comment. It can certainly be tough when we don’t see things changing as we want them to…let’s face it, we don’t fully trust one million percent and still have a tendency to look to the outside for ‘proof’ that there is something to this way of thinking, feeling and believing. I like what you said about the delay…things do really come to us in the perfect time. I know for most of us, we think that perfect time is right this second, but alas, it often isn’t. That line of thinking is very positive and I can feel the soothing, uplifting energy coming off of it as I read the comment. I imagine a lot of people reading this comment will borrow one or two of those lines at least!

  5. Kelli
Fabulous post as usual and one that everyone should read without a doubt!
    Dominic

    1. Thanks Dominic
So glad you enjoyed it and thanks for always sharing my posts on Facebook..much appreciated!

  6. Thanks for the post, Kelli. I’ve been thinking along the same lines recently, about how to keep going when you feel discouraged. Going back to the basics of LOA is something that I like to do. I’ve also been re-reading The Map by Boni Lonnsburry and reading old Live A Life You Love posts. And then this post is helpful to me today. 🙂

I have been having a slightly different situation lately, where I was seeing some signs and feeling like one of my manifestations was coming closer but I got scared. Now I feel like it’s gone “wrong”, although I know that I am still moving towards it. It helps to have a reminder that I’m not deficient in any way or incapable of manifesting what I want. 🙂

    1. Hi
Going back to basics is great and is helpful for anyone, no matter how ‘advanced’ they may be because if we find ourselves struggling in any way, there is a part of us that is resisting these truths, and the refreshers can be immensely helpful.

Nothing has gone wrong so no worries…what you want is still yours for the taking and I sense that whatever happened was meant to bring your attention to that fear. If there is any part of us that feels like getting what we want would be ‘negative’ in some way, that can be a big block. It can be hard to align with something if there is a part of us that is actually afraid of getting it. You are certainly not deficient and I suggest you dig a bit around this experience of feeling scared…you’ll get lots of helpful insights

      1. Hi Kelli, yes, I do think a lot of it is to do with my fear. I have been examining my beliefs around it and I think it will be good to dig a bit deeper. Thanks for your reply. 🙂

        1. You are welcome. A lot of us don’t realize it, but fear of actually getting what we want is often a big block. We are funny that way!

  7. My focus technique works like this. When I feel the frustration, I just say to myself, this could be your last day on earth. Are you going to enjoy it or waste it? This then gets me into the perfect state of mindfulness and I tap into the non-physical energy of money, love, creativity, peace or whatever it is I want. I like to think of it as my way of saying, ok, I am ready for the next stage now. Waiting patiently.

    1. Hey Natalie
I love that technique..very simple yet a very powerful way to really shift your focus. That certainly does send a great message to the Universe that you are ready to receive..bring it on baby!

  8. Absolute pure awesomeness. You always pump out these amazing posts exactly when I need them. I’m am completely grateful for this post, thank you. 🙂

    1. Hey Corin
That makes me so happy to hear! It is interesting how we share a consciousness. I have no doubt much of my inspiration as far as what to write about on a given day is coming from what people are needing right now.

  9. Thanks so much for this article and your responses to your commentors. I went searching on Google today, using the search term, “don’t let physical reality keep you from manifesting.” I’ve been into this philosophy for over 30 years (read Jane Robert’s The Nature of Personal Reality back in the 80s) and still struggle with manifesting. There are some cues in my external environment that I simply can’t avoid that drag me back down into responding unconsciously from habit. I realize how conditioned we are to responding negatively to our external reality so I’ve recently been working on breaking that habit. But it can be exhausting at times.

I’m going to re-read your article and your responses to comments because you’ve provided some excellent advice that I can make use of. Thanks so much, and I’m sure I’ll be signing up for your newsletter and whatever else I can take advantage of here.

    1. Hi Patrice
Thank you for your comment. Jane Robert’s Seth books are a really great read. You are right it can feel tiring–having to be ‘vigilant’ of our energy can seem challenging at times. But after awhile we get used to doing that, and also, don’t worry about examining it every second. That just causes more anxiety. I also find that when we prioritize our well-being in whatever way works best for us, that more positive energy just naturally edges out the other vibes. And that energy leads us to manifest ‘evidence’ that helps us more easily let go of beliefs and perspectives that don’t serve us.

      1. Great advice, Kelli. I have to remind myself often to make my well-being a priority. We women tend to put everybody else’s well being before ours. I’ve also found that “telling a different story” about current circumstances helps. It’s a matter of getting into the habit of shifting and reframing how one views what’s going on. Just have to remember to do it before my old, negative story drags me down.

  10. Amazing! Literally every single time I type some random, confused, frenetic question into Google (today it was “how to trust the process when it seems like nothing is happening”) OR anytime I have any question at all about the nuances of manifesting, your site is the first to pop up. It’s become my go-to, my saving grace, answering all my questions as they occur to me. I’m so in awe but mostly thankful.

    1. Hi Chiara
Thanks so much for your comment and I’m glad my content is giving you the answers you need when you need them. The Universe always provides!

  11. I’ve just come across your blog whilst passing some time on a lazy Sunday. I love the great simple advise you give here.

From my own experience I’d say it’s a lot easier than we want to make it. It’s almost as if we can’t accept how easy things can come to us and think we have to visualise over and over but this is often counter-productive as it can lead to obsession.

If you think about every day life then you’ll notice that things come to us easily with barely any additional visualisation. For instance, I found a nice jacket in a store but couldn’t find it in my size and thought, if only they had it in a ten. With that someone came along and hung one in a ten on the rack next to me! So I simply had a desire and as I am in the state of noticing things these days, I looked at the label of the jacket the lady had put back on the wrong rack and saw it was a size 10! Nothing monumental of course but LOA at work on a small scale.

I recently found Richard Dotts literature and really haven’t looked back. He is much like yourself. The advice he gives matched my feelings on the subject exactly. I think if we are trying to manifest, there in lies the problem. Trying means we feel it’s going to be a tough ride.

I think there are two ways of getting what we desire. One is to completely detach (the hardest way) and the other is to feel good about it and know we are going to receive it with complete certainty. I think the latter when it’s something majorly life changing, is the easier way. It’s a matter of changing our thought processes. If we can change lack into certainty combined with as much patience as we can muster then we really can have everything!

If you guys have not discovered the great Richard Dotts then I can highly recommend his stuff. I think I have everything he has written. You can find him on Amazon.

    I wish you all luck!

    1. Hi Rachel
I loved every word you said here and thanks for sharing such wonderful insights. You are right…we complicate it big time and I don’t think we can accept it is easy. Loved the example of the jacket. Thanks for the recommendation on the books…I am sure that will be the very thing someone reading your comment needs.

  12. Im curious about a couple of things. I am a believer in LOA BUT of late i took a emotional downward spiral, my emotional down was before my consious mind to prevent it. I have seen signs LOA was working, real genuine signs. But theyve stopped. Im not sure if its because i doubted, energy dropped or just because- what is advice you can give on, maybe why or if or when – LOA goes quiet.
Secondly i understand handing over my desire, no desperation is fine with me i didnt have that kind of feeling. Yet if i still want to daydream of my desire just because or because ive read LOA must be manifested and concentrated on to show desire- wheres the fineline of daydream- thoughts – relaxing in a imaginary world of having the desire, wheres the fine line in that and portraying lack. This doubt i had recently was painful, apart of my desire is left field, moving to another country – why, im not sure, i just know its a desire. The signs have been varied eg Ipad on a Australian site then the country id like to move to flashes up with QANTAS having cheap airfares. Ive been walking and a street sign will be related to the country, walking and some one will speak that language, or i hear someone talk of the country. Its real. And i have faith so i do not scoff at this. My donwer produced tears before i could stop it, it was weird, but i did not like feeling so absolutely miniature and a waste of time manifesting, it wont come true and so on, it was horrible.
What damage have i done. I dont see signs. Please dont concentrate on getting my vibrations up (i dont mean this rudely) its just, i know. I have also crossed to subliminal messages, not bad, i can see a difference.

    1. Hi Chrissi
First, it is important to know the LOA does not ‘go quiet.’ It is not a tool you use or way to bend reality to your exact desires. It is something always working, consciously or not. If you are feeling badly, let yourself feel your feelings–that is the only way to really get your energy back on track. Too often people deny their emotions and then ‘try’ to make things happen by focusing a certain way or engaging in various tools or techniques, making manifesting an action-oriented approach. Also, you must realize that what you want isn’t what you actually want–the desire of moving abroad or anything other thing you want is a representation of feelings and energies you find desirable. You feel badly now not because you don’t have what you want but because you have assigned a certain meaning to your current reality that feels badly. Trying to manifest from a space of ‘fixing’ our lives now or to make unpleasant feelings go away is understandable but it is a much bumpier road. Do whatever you can to feel better now and from that space you will likely feel inspired to take certain actions and you will manifest inspiration and more clarity.

  13. I wish I could offer something more tangible other than my immense gratitude for this article. Every sentence, every line, was helpful. There have been times when I really didn’t feel like forcing myself to feel good due to being angry, irritated, etc. as its so hard to do, and makes me feel even worse. To hear you say you don’t need to force it, is such a relief.

    Thank you.

    Ann

    1. Hi Ann
Thank you so much for your comment and I am so glad you enjoyed the post and found it so helpful. It is not necessary to force it at all–negative emotion is not wrong or bad and allowing it is key to actually dealing with it more effectively. Trying to stuff down our negative emotion and ‘hide’ it can serve us for a bit but when it comes to transforming our core energy in a meaningful way and changing our point of attraction, that approach doesn’t work so well anymore.

  14. Hi Kelli
There was this one day where I totally surrendered to the situation and sat through a complete opposite situation of what I want with the belief that I will eventually get what I want. And two days post that, I was blank, my mind was blank. Then i again started getting into the cycle of feeling positive and neutral all day long and sometimes a bit low but then I used to push myself to feel neutral. Overall, I have made huge progress. But then, suddenly after few good days,I start getting nervous that why is it so quiet and then something negative again happens. I am trying to break out of this cycle.

  15. This article is absolutely the best explanation of this topic that I’ve read over the past decade! “When nothing seems to be happening, we can enter a very vulnerable state where we are susceptible to action motivated by fear and doubt that feels all kinds of crappy and brings us even further away from what we want. Resist the urge as best you can.” I found this information at just the right time for a specific work related issue, full of roadblocks, one after the other for well over a month. I never connected the feeling of vulnerability to LOA when “nothing” seemed to happen in the past. Doubt? Yes! Fear? Yes! Frustration? Yes! Something resonated within just seeing the word vulnerable.
We want to feel protected, parented and nurtured during the time of manifestation by Source/Spirit/God/Universe during the process. A touch to the shoulder would be nice as if to say, “Everything is going to be ok–it’s all working out behind the scenes.” Regarding the work issue, I felt vulnerable, as if I would be exposed as incompetent or incapable if things didn’t turn very soon. Being able to identify the feeling of vulnerability as a trigger to the downward spiral that takes me away from higher vibration feelings was a light bulb moment for me. Thank you and may you receive overflowing blessings for providing this article to the world.

    1. Hi D
Thanks so much for your lovely comment. I really enjoyed seeing your realization play out in your comment and it is really powerful when we stumble upon those feelings that are obviously so relevant yet we just didn’t know that is what we were feeling. You are right…we can feel very vulnerable. We are trusting, we are having faith. We have no ‘proof’ doing any of this will make a damn difference in our lives basically and that can feel unsettling. But we are supported and safe…the key is we must believe this is so to be a beneficiary of this truth.

  16. I Googled, “I believe in manifestation, but I don’t see anything happening”, and found your post. I am drawn to plants but never considered the garden analogy. Makes perfect sense, Thank you!

    1. Hi M
Thanks so much for your comment and glad it helped. It really is a good analogy. Just remember that just because the mind can’t see it or figure out it, doesn’t mean nothings happening!

  17. I design landscapes and I tell my clients all the time that the plants are going to be small in the beginning but with regular water, love and care and patience, they will grow and flourish. I also mention that each plant is different, so no two varieties will grow at the same speed.

Funny how this analogy is perfect for manifestation. I have been doing manifestation work for two weeks and the universe has been giving me lots of signs telling me to keep doing the work. But admittedly, there are times once in a while where I want things to move faster than they are. This creates a mini moment of ugh. But I remember what I said above (& what you wrote). It’s hard to be patient in a world where there is negativity around you.

Anyhoo finding this post turned on the light bulb that was dimming and made it brighter.

    1. Hi Ramidio
Thanks for much for your comment and I’m glad you found the post helpful. It is perfect for manifestation. For the mind, things are never moving fast enough so what you are experiencing is totally normal. The best advice I can give for cultivating that patience is remembering the stuff we want isn’t what we actually want–it’s the feelings we think they will give us; usually we may be looking for them to take away negative feelings as well but again, the manifestation isn’t the ‘answer.’ This helps us not be so focused on getting it and also helps us drop the ‘need’ we may feel. We can want the thing and that’s fine but the ‘need’ will turn into a big problem! Just focus more on the inner transformation not just trying to get something you don’t have…these are very different journeys with very different results!

  18. Hi Kelli,

I’ve stumbled upon this post and it has been very helpful. However, do you have any advice on staying positive and non-judgemental of ourselves when we are trying to manifest s better situation (job/a place to live) when we have depression and anxiety? It feels very discouraging that feelings I cannot necessarily control bring me down and I think I have jeopardised my chances at manifesting what I need in the right time frame. I’m scared of becoming homeless/not doing what I love and being stuck in a position which doesn’t give me any progression.

    1. Hi Alex
Thanks for your comment and I am glad you found the post helpful. This post is a good read for you…anything I would say in this comment is said here in much greater detail. Hope you find it helpful:

  19. Really happy I stumbled upon this 5 year old post because it is totally relevant to my current situation. I’m trying to manifest a new job, and I already psychically know what it’s going to be like. I feel the energy of it, I feel it in my heart, and it’s wonderful! But I haven’t yet found it. I’ve been trying to put in just a little bit of time every day, and then leave it alone. Because the more I obsess, the less I trust. I’m telling myself that just because I haven’t yet found it, doesn’t mean I’ll never find it. As a perfectionist, I often get trapped in these illusionary fairytales. I think to myself, “Oh, now that I know exactly what my job is going to be like, I’ll be able to instantly manifest it!” and I have to challenge that thinking. There is a greater lesson of trust here. It would be quite easy to trust the Universe if everything you wanted immediately dropped in your lap. A deeper level of trust is forged when you listen to the calling of your heart, and don’t stray from it even when it is tempting. There is physical reality and spiritual reality, and if we can put our faith into spiritual reality, we will be much happier people. Thank you for this. It’s clearly set off a string of insights within me and your ability to empathize with me as a human, yet remind me of my superhumanness, is wonderful 🙂

  20. Nice post and well presented. Thanks for keeping us in check and providing encouragement. I would add that we should forgive ourselves when we get negative, not try to force ourselves out of it. That just generates more negative energy and that’s not what we want!
e.g. I am frustrated because I haven’t received what I want yet but I am observing the energy within that demonstrates the desire that I have. This proves to me that I truly want what I have requested! I now choose to release this frustration and transform it into gratitude for how amazing it will feel when I receive it!

    1. Hi Grant
Thanks so much for your comment and I am so glad you enjoyed the post. You are so right about that forgiveness. Growth oriented people are usually way too hard on ourselves and hold ourselves to an unrealistic standard in this work. I think on some level we envision ourselves becoming these perfect beings and are trying to achieve something that we never will so of course we will always view ourselves as falling short or failing somehow when this just isn’t true. You are right…that feeling alerts you to the things you want to see in your life–that is the value of contrast and we know it is ‘done’–we just have to be open to the process of aligning with it and what it will all look like.

  21. Hi Kelli,

today I googled “when nothing gets manifested” and found this article of yours. You describe it so perfectly, the way we tend to react when nothing seems to work, how we tend to act frantically from the place of fear in this case and how we search to control.
I’m a very hard case and I haven’t seen anything manifesting for what I truly want for about 10 years (now yes, I do have a nice house, a healthy relationship, I live in a good place, I do appreciate it and must appreciate even more). I thought it was because about loads of trauma, but after years of healing there is still nothing on the horizon, and the seed metaphor is no longer soothing to me. I fell down to the very bottom of the deep black hole and got stuck in it with a belief that I’ve been cursed and abandoned by the whole universe. It became so painful that even as I write it, tears are running over my face.
My biggest dream and need of this life was to work, not for money and for my ego, but for the good of all. I have tons of talent and good education, yet I’ve been without any income for years and every attempt to find a job turns into an ugly failure. I’m a big action taker and go-getter, and this is where the soul lesson comes in.
I finally got it that in order to shift this extremely toxic situation I have to totally shift my focus, therefore to STOP looking for a job for a LONG time, not think of it even for a second and keep doing it every day. Everybody works and earning money is natural and necessary, well apparently not for me. Could you please give me some advice on HOW to get out of the constant circle of searching for a job and not finding it? I’m not starving but life is expensive and money is needed on a daily basis, and the little of it I have is leaking through the pockets every day. It does hurt seeing people having income and everything costing money. And I keep being haunted by the despair, frustration and fear.
I’d be so grateful for your advice, as I can’t get out of it myself.

    1. Hi Lana
Glad the post was helpful. Without speaking with you personally, I can’t really give more than some general guidance since everyone’s energetic ‘issues’ are unique in many ways. The first thing I would say is don’t see the Universe, God or whatever term resonates as some force that is giving things to you or deciding what you can and can’t have. Think of the state of your job situation and anything else as merely NEUTRAL feedback of your inner state, not any sort of punishment, reward, etc…

The way you are talking is very ‘dramatic’ and not in a bad way–what I mean by that is based on the language you are using I can tell there is a lot of strong negative emotion here that is driving your desire to work and money and you are operating from ‘pain minimizing mode’ in a very high degree. Letting yourself feel all of this and getting to at least a more ‘neutral’ state if not great feeling one will make a huge difference. Think of it like unclogging a drain. All those bad feelings interfere with more fully embracing the perspectives that serve us. They distort everything and make it harder to see things as they really are.

Money issues tend to represent lots of deeper, broader energies–worthiness and deserving, a variety of fears, etc…and aren’t just simply about whether or not we believe in ‘abundance,’and feel ‘abundant’ You have to look at the story your mind is telling about your situation, what it is making you think about yourself and that insight is where the unwinding of the energies not serving you now begin because you will be tasked with making a choice about whether you choose to believe those things or trust your intuitive resonance with ideas that make you feel better about yourself, make you feel more empowered, make you believe positive change is possible. Hope this helps
