Law of Attraction: Clearing Up Some of Your ‘Action Anxiety’ Part 2

And today we dive a bit deeper into law of attraction and action…enjoy!

Sometimes Action is Just the Ticket

So, after all this talk action not being the primary factor in what we attract into our experience, now you are saying that taking action can sometimes be the very thing to raise our vibration? What the frack?

Bear with me for a moment kids. Like anything else in life, there is a lot of nuance and complexity to working consciously with our energy. Nothing is black and white. We want to steer clear of absolutes.

There will be times when taking action is a great way to raise our vibration, and this is because taking the actions will help us create the expectation we will get what we want.

But, these are the kind of actions that are making us feel good in some way, they are not the type of actions we are taking because we feel we have to take them or we can’t get what we want.

They are not the type of actions that feel badly, but we do them anyway, lest we can’t get our desired results.

We are not hinging everything on these actions. We are not getting attached to any specific outcome as a result of taking the action.

They are not driven by fear, doubt or the desire to manipulate and control.

Let’s face it…the idea of not having to do much makes us uncomfortable and we can’t really buy into that. There are things we may feel compelled to do, and we’ll feel good that we did them.

And if it makes us feel good, we are on the right track.

Let me give you a few examples to illustrate my point.

If you are totally aligned with your purpose and feel great about your products and services, it won’t matter a lick what your website looks like.

Steve Pavlina has one of the most popular personal development blogs out there, and at one point he was pulling in tens of thousands of dollars a month from advertising…it is one of the most basic looking websites you have ever seen. Clearly he was all good with it.

But, if you are not feeling totally clear on the look of your website, and redesigning it would give you a boost in confidence and make you feel more professional and what have you, getting that new site can be a great boon for your energy, because it makes you feel better about succeeding with your business.

I am currently looking into redesigning my website…not because I feel I ‘have to’ but because it feels exciting to create something new and I envision a different look for it.

If you are totally aligned with the idea of meeting someone, you won’t have to do a damn thing to let that person float into your orbit. But, it may make you feel better to participate a bit in the process by doing things that allow you to get out there and meet people.

Maybe you’ll join a dating site or let friends set you up on blind dates. So long as you remember it is your energy that is calling the shots and not the actions you are taking, it can be a great way to make you feel more hopeful that you can meet someone.

If you are totally aligned with getting a better job, it won’t matter what your resume looks like, or whether you have certain types of experience that has been deemed to make you a more desirable candidate for a particular type of work.

But, paying someone to rework your resume, or taking a particular class, or getting some sort of certification, may make you feel really good, and more confident in your ability to get the type of job you want.

So, as you can see from these examples, taking action can sometimes be a great form of energy work. These actions are helping to build some momentum behind the energy that will make you a match to what you want to attract.

But, the actions in and of themselves are not the primary factor in bringing about the manifestations…it was how they made you feel.

If you get more clients after the website redesign, it wasn’t because your website looks better, it is because you now feel better about your business.

If you end up meeting a great guy on the dating website, the site had nothing to do with it…it was because you felt better about your prospects of meeting someone, and he just happened to come through that channel.

If you get that great job, it wasn’t because of your polished, revamped resume, or because you took that class—lots of people have great resumes and relevant experience for a job,but that doesn’t mean they are going to get it. You got it because of how you were feeling and because you were aligned with getting the job you wanted.

So, it’s okay if you feel compelled to take certain actions because the idea of just sitting around and waiting for things to manifest is not something you can fully buy into on the deepest levels of your being.

If taking the action will make you feel better in some way..and I mean truly make you feel better, and cultivate the expectation your manifestation will indeed come, go for it. But, if it is coming from a place of ickiness that stems from lack of trust and feeling like you need to jump in and make shit happen, then you want to reevaluate your position.

Not All Inspired Action May Have a ‘Positive’ Result

This is one thing that can really throw us in this whole attraction game. We take that delicious inspired action that feels really good, and we wait for the awesome result, but it doesn’t come. Instead something ‘bad’ happens.

What the frack is up with that? That is not how it is supposed to go right? Inspired action is coming from a space of alignment, and doesn’t that mean we are supposed to experience something that makes us all happy and shiny, and shows us we are right on schedule to manifest what we want?

You worry that something is terribly, terribly wrong in your vibration. What unknown belief is sabotaging all your happiness? Utter despair washes over you.

Maybe I am being a bit dramatic, but maybe not. This course of events can really bring all the fears, doubts and limiting beliefs up to the surface, and front and center in our minds.

We were feeling really good, and from that high vibing space, a ‘negative’ outcome can feel even worse than if we were in a more neutral space, or already feeling kind of crappy. We just weren’t expecting it, and that makes it harder to process.

Here’s the thing..sometimes that formula of inspired action equaling awesome manifestation does not always play out that way.

That is something that is not often discussed, and I may even be guilty of never having broached the topic before..who knows. I cover so much stuff about LOA I can’t keep track.

But, here’s the thing…it is important to remember that nothing went wrong. You didn’t make any sort of mistake. You didn’t misread any signs or whatever. The only thing that goes wrong in these scenarios is our tendency to start freaking out.

Whatever resulted from your inspired action…it’s all good. Remember we are always moving towards what we want, and our path can be made a bit more ‘treacherous’ by the various obstacles we have in the form of limiting beliefs and fears.

Our experience in any given moment is just vibrational feedback, and without this feedback, we really wouldn’t know how close or far we were from manifesting what we want.

Therefore, this feedback is very helpful, and we would have a lot harder time manifesting without it. Obviously, some of the feedback comes in the form of unwanted manifestations that don’t make us feel too good in the moment, but again, it’s all good.

You are not screwing things up, what you want is not being withheld from you, these manifestations are not signs what you want is not possible so you best just set your sights on something else.

These types of manifestations also speak to the importance of releasing expectations of how our manifestation is supposed to unfold and not getting attached to certain outcomes.

If you take some sort of action that feels good and it results in something that doesn’t feel too good, or something you expect to happen doesn’t, that is what was supposed to happen. That chain of events unfolded as it did to allow you to see what blocks, fears or other ick may still be strong in your vibration.

Again, let’s bust out an example..one having to do with good old money because that’s a sticking point for many people:

You have some sort of product or service and you feel really inspired to offer a special deal to your email list, current customers, or whatever… You are probably expecting a whole bunch of people to take advantage, but then no one does.

You feel all crappy and wonder what went wrong. Then you start seeing what is coming up when you think about this situation.

And digging a bit deeper, you realize you have a belief that people can’t afford your services or aren’t willing to pay what you are charging, that is stronger than you might have realized.

And you realize while that action may have felt really good in the moment, underneath, it was primarily motivated by these lower energy thoughts and feelings.

And with this type of energy, you aren’t letting in the people who can AND will happily pay for your products and services, who immediately see their value and don’t need to be convinced of it.

And that action is what let all of these extremely helpful insights make their way into your brain, insights that will help you move closer towards what you really want.

So yeah, no matter what happens, you are just being shown where you are in the moment and what may need to be cleaned up a bit.

Often times, these moments will provide a lot of clarity and let in ideas and inspirations that will benefit your journey.

That you were vibing high and led to take a high vibing action is awesome..it shows you are accessing the energy of what you want more and more. The fact that something unwanted resulted does not diminish that..again, it is just feedback and will help you move forward if you can remember this and heed the wisdom inherent in the manifestation.

Seriously..If You are Feeling Badly, Don’t Do Anything

This sounds obvious, but what may not be so obvious to you, and something that will really help you understand why it is so important to heed this piece of advice, is realizing action is a manifestation of your predominant energy in the moment.

If you are acting from a space of feeling like shit, if you are powering through no matter how fruitless it seems or how much you just want to step away, if you refuse to pull back until a certain result has been achieved or a solution to the problem has been found, this is indicative of some pretty screwy energy.

It is an energy oozing with lack of trust, fear, doubt, a need to take control, and a bunch other yuck that is certainly not conducive to letting what you want into your life with ease. This is an energy that is screaming out to the Universe you don’t believe you can have what you want.

Acting from this energetic space is a major red flag you are way out of alignment with what you want so all of that action is largely going to be ineffective. Sure, you may squeeze something out of it, but it will probably be very little.

Getting the good stuff should never require traveling down a path that feels badly. Being miserable is not the way to get all the stuff that makes you happy.

It can’t be denied that plenty of people get results acting in this very fashion..there is some part of them that is aligned with what they want, and even if they are trudging along painfully slowly, they’re still moving forward.

But, you are interested in harnessing the power of attraction because you don’t want to have a life that sucks and is full of pain, suffering, and doing stuff you don’t want to do, but believe you have to, because that is what you have been told by a bunch of people who have no idea how our reality is truly created. Woo..that was quite a sentence.

When you are willing to step away from action that is not making you feel good, you are sending a very strong message about how you intend to create what you want in your life. You are shoring up the belief that there can be gain without pain.

You are demonstrating your willingness to believe you can get results with greater ease and in ways that are fun and joyful. You are saying you trust what you want can come to you, and you realize it isn’t your job to be involved in every step.

You are making yourself a better match for inspired actions that feel good and will net you more results with less effort, that bring things to you more easily.

In Closing…

This idea of letting the Universe handle the bulk of things is a concept that can take a bit to really believe. We are all on different points of the spectrum as far as how much we really, truly believe that and act accordingly.

It may be easier in certain areas of your life than others. You may find yourself backsliding at times because a manifestation triggered some stuff that had been fading but came back with a vengeance.

If something is really important to you, you may feel more compelled to try and control things, figure stuff out and take actions that you believe will guarantee your result.

This need to control and always be taking action, no matter how badly it feels, is not going to be something you are just going to release fully one day, and then never have to deal with again.

It is more of a process. You’ll have moments when you just can’t help yourself and you’ll do things even if it doesn’t feel good because you are having a crisis of trust, or the fear is running particularly high.

You’ll be sick of seeing no results, and you’ll conclude you haven’t been doing enough, and again, you’ll force yourself to do stuff, even if it doesn’t feel good.

You’ll know you shouldn’t be doing it, but you just can’t seem to pull yourself away. The old world thinking is winning out.

It’s okay..don’t beat yourself up about it. One of the reasons we struggle with manifesting is we are way too hard on ourselves about our ‘screw ups.’

And it is important to remember that aligning your energy with what you want, and shifting your limiting beliefs, is action. That is not ‘doing nothing.’ It is the most important action you can take.

Your Turn…

What did you think of this post? Anything resonate with you in particular? Anything interesting get triggered or did you have any aha moments about your own manifesting journey? Looking forward to your comments as always.

  1. Hi Kelli Cooper, the image you shared in this post looks good. And the information you shared is awesome to read. Thanks for sharing kelli.. 🙂

    1. Hi Kenny
Thanks about the photo.it was taken at the house we are staying at in Bali when the sun was coming up. I am so glad you liked the post. Have a great day and thanks for taking the time to comment.

  2. I have copied and pasted the last paragraph and saved it on my computer as a reminder! I’m really starting to believe this stuff works, but it’s just such a complete turn-around in thinking that it feels like an uphill struggle. Just a matter of remembering how the universe works – it feels scary but I don’t know why!

    1. Hey Tess
That is great because it is something we can often forget for sure! You are right, it is a complete turn around and we just won’t totally shift our entire belief system overnight, even if we get LOA in theory, even when we start seeing the ‘proof.’ It is a process and that is normal. Sometimes it will feel like a struggle and that is normal. The great thing is, we don’t have to totally shift our whole way of thinking and feeling completely to start creating our reality more consciously…if that was the case we’d all be in trouble! It is scary for sure…realizing how powerful we are is really awesome but can freak us out a bit. Actually going after the things we want because for the first time we believe we may actually be able to have them, is also scary. But, over time, you get more comfortable with being uncomfortable, and once that starts to happen, nothing can stop you!

  3. Hi Kelli, I enjoyed the post. 🙂 Sometimes it can be so frustrating when nothing seems to be working out but that might be a good time to pull back and take a break. I think even just this sentence is a good reminder: “Seriously..If You are Feeling Badly, Don’t Do Anything”. You can be tempted to try and “force” things but that isn’t a good idea.

I agree that it’s important to remember that aligning your energy and shifting your limiting beliefs is action. Sometimes I might not take any “outward” action but I work on shifting my beliefs.

P.S. I tried to post this once but I don’t think it worked, so am trying again. Sorry if it ends up getting posted twice!

    1. Hi
So glad you liked it. You are right about pulling back when we feel like that. It can be tough because our mind rights us on that. In those very moments, it can get very insistent that we need to start doing things to change the situation and force things to get better. I am glad you resonated with that reminder because it can be easy to forget that, but it really is the most important action we can take for sure!

Lately I notice a lot of legitimate comments have been going to spam…normally anyone who has posted at least once will always get approved automatically. My husband said the program that filters is probably changing up their algorithm, which can make it a bit buggy. Everything is coming through, but it just might go to spam first. Hopefully that gets fixed soon.

      1. Yes, sometimes it can feel hard to just leave it and do nothing! I’ll keep the sentence I quoted above in mind because sometimes simple reminders can stick in your head more.

Thanks for letting me know about the comments. I’m glad that it posted in the end. 🙂

  4. Hey Kelly
This is my first visit to your blog and I must say It will not be the last.

Great way to explain what we need to do according to situation. I liked your take on when we feel bad, it is beeter not to do anythng

As our actions are determined by our emotions, it is better to stay cool and calm during tough situation.

Thank You So Much for such beutiful and detailed post.

    1. Hi Yash
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave a comment. You are so right in our emotions influencing the choices we make. Glad you like the blog and I look forward to reading more of your comments!

  5. Hi Kelli,

There is one thing that keeps jumping out at me post after post. And that’s not getting attached to a specific outcome. I really think I need to pay attention to that one. I find a lack of patience sort of goes hand in hand with that too. I’m going to make a point to add this to my daily routine, my inner knowing seems to be pointing me in that direction.

    Another great post. 🙂

    1. Hey Corin
You are certainly not alone in that one! That is not to minimize your struggle with it in any way, but just to remind you that you are not ‘defective’ for not being able to release on outcomes easy peasy. Our mind comes up with representations of what we want based on what we can access and accept in this moment, and it can be hard to look beyond that. You are so right about impatience factoring into that. You can’t go wrong with following your inner knowing, not ever, ever, ever! So glad you enjoyed it! And having worked with you, I totally know what you are capable of and the deep understanding you have..make sure you aren’t being too hard on yourself!

      1. Oh you know how I think.
I’m guilty of being hard on myself quite regularly. I need to focus again on loving myself more fully. And radiating love around me. I’ve been guilty of not practicing anything the last 2 weeks and I’m starting to see the effects of relapse. But I also find that I’m rebounding again more quickly and I’m much easier on myself.
I am moving forward though and my same goals are still in front of me. But I have to say the clarity has become stronger. The knowing of what I want is also stronger. I’m more sure and the answers are also becoming more clear. Feeling more confident in what I want makes it easier for me to intend/ask for it and having a stronger expectation for it.

Nothing “big” yet has manifested, but I see a few smaller manifestations showing I’m moving forward. I think I need to now focus on reworking my desires to clean them up a bit, or maybe be more specific. What’s interesting is that when I’m flowing positively, my intuition is more clear and I can differentiate my feelings and read them more clearly.
I was wondering if you have a post that details intuition more deeply? I find it to be somewhat mysterious.
Thank you Kelli for your insights.

        1. Hi Corin
The first thing I would say is try not to feel guilty about not having done anything…for whatever reason you weren’t feeling it, and I am sure there were insights gained from that experience and it’s all good. We can put a lot of pressure on ourselves to do the ‘work’ thinking that the actions are what necessary. Obviously the work does help us change as it helps us focus on what we want and make shifts, but ultimately we are working on shifting our feelings and that can be accomplished in a number of ways. Gaining that confidence and clarity is huge and will make a big difference in your energy. Being in that higher state is definitely a boon for tuning into our intuition because in those moments our mind is more in line with big us and isn’t fighting us as much. There is less noise. I haven’t covered that but you are the second person to ask about that so I think that is a nudge to write about that.

  6. Hi Kelli,

I’m totally inline with creating and making something new to align with the universe. I also know some other websites where people are complaining they are not getting traffic and personally I think it is due to ‘seeing the same old thing’ and getting the same old information.

Not only will a change in the design bring in a fresh new energy but as you state, bring different vibes that can bring in new change. That’s exactly what I did with my blog about 4 months ago. And guess what. It started bringing in more traffic. It was a great idea to make that change and it was helpful to my traffic.

I think you will do well with whatever change you make. I’m with you in that it bring an entirely different energy. Great post and a great reminder to me that I did the right thing.

    Barbara

    1. Hi Barbara
It is fun to create and do things that feel good…anything that helps us become more confident we can get what we want and makes us feel good about what we are trying to accomplish. That is great you had that experience with your own blog.

  7. This totally makes sense! I’m super happy that you made it sound super easy and I did learn that everything in life is a gift and if something bad comes up then the higher powers want you to fix it and move along your merry way. I believe life is supposed to be easy and fun and there are no odds or luck or hard work, it is all alignment 🙂

    1. Thanks Akisha
Everything that happens does have its hidden gifts…may be hard to see them in the moment, but if we can distill the lessons and use it to improve somehow, what we want can make its way to us. It really is all alignment..couldn’t have said it better myself!
