The law of attraction is usually presented as a tool you can ‘use’ to get what you want, and this misconception can send us down a very frustrating road. If you are using all the tools and they aren’t ‘working’ hopefully you’ll get a better idea of why.

Podcast #101: Law of Attraction: I’m Using the Tools but They’re Not Working
Predominant vibe time. This is where the changes happen, as far as seeing different results. You are seeing what you are being. One cool aspect of this inside out deal; when you vibe higher and higher, even if you are not seeing the exact results you are wanting, you see goodness. Like, you see sweetness and wholeness and completeness in conditions or appearances, no matter what appearances look like. This is the huge shift.
Rocking podcast as always. I heard the simulcast before it went live. Yes it was pirated.
Very wise words!
Thank you for doing this podcast. I get a lot out of it, especially your rational but ultimately productive approach to LOA.
Two followup questions, then:
1) You’ve made it clear the tools are a means to shift your energy; they are not levers by which we can directly alter reality. So could you tell us more about what you mean by shifting your energy? We know how NOT to use these tools. How DO we use them to change what’s happening internally?
2) How much control does one have over the specifics of the manifestations?
One of the most common claims with LOA is that you can have very specific things (2018 Black Audi S8, winning lottery ticket worth 100 million, an exact kind of house within an exact price range in a certain area, etc). If I’m understanding you correctly, you’re saying it simply does not work that way. That specific manifestations are not in our control and are far more abstract in how they reflect our inner world back to us. Is that right?
Thank you for your comment
1. There is no right or wrong way to use them. The key is using tools that you resonate with and that is different for everyone. Some people like affirmations while others might really resonate with a gratitude list for example. Consistent use of ones that feel good in some sort of routine can be helpful–like saying the affirmations every morning. The key to making internal change is simply deciding you will, and this intention sets in motion all sorts of things that will help you do this.
2. It is quite possible you can manifest very specific things you want, but I always suggest to be open. If we feel inspired to want specific things, there is a good chance they will manifest. But people tend to get too attached to these specifics and focusing that specifically often doesn’t feel good–if it does, go for it. The way I see it, detachment will never be painful and focusing more on the energy that makes you a match to what you want rather than the specific manifestation will often result in faster external changes and will make you feel better in the current moment regardless of what has or hasn’t manifested.
Hey Kelli,
I want to share my experience regarding this topic. I don’t know your personal experience when you started LOA practice but it took me a while to understand meaning of ‘being’ . And I believe lots of people struggle with tools because they haven’t reached to the state of understanding what ‘being’ is.
I was the same. Just in search of perfect tools and getting upset with going nowhere with any of those tools. Then couple of months ago something happened and I realized meaning of ‘being’. As soon as that being came I realized I don’t need any tool. That state of being solved lots of problems like getting impatient, fears, doubts , controlling end results and getting attached to specific things.
It helped me to see and sense what is it that I have right now and what I can do with it. It gave me awareness to dig deeper and find out what Am i really after. Why I want what I want. And Am i really ready for it? And will it really stop me from wanting anything anymore?
I experienced that once that ‘being’ comes you are just fine with whatever. You might still want something but you are not attached to it. If it happens the way you wanted great ! if it doesn’t then also never mind. But things do move faster when you are being. But that there is no substitute for ‘BEING ‘.
Thank you :).
Hi Rhea
I LOVE every single word of this of comment. I have found that as I am ‘being’ more I don’t feel the need for the tools anymore. I find them most effective now when I am feeling a bit ‘off’ and they can bring me back or when I want to build momentum behind energies that may be ‘lacking’ Such wisdom here and I felt such a peaceful energy coming from your words.
Thank you Kelli .
Hi. I have found you recently and love what you have to say. What does being mean. My question is how do I change my internal feelings I focus on the bad feelings, betrayal, resentment, anger all focused on my husband who I feel I can’t trust after an act of betrayal which continued over 8 months with constant lying. I am moving back 350 miles to be near my family while he stays another 6 months supposedly to close the business. So how can I feel good, not focus on what he’s doing. How can I just be, how do I focus on just being. How do I feel good day to day, Sorry for the long question I want to understand how to refocus my energy to let go and be happy in myself. Without fixating on the outcome that he may or may not be part of our family in the future.
Hi Claudi
It sounds like you are still dealing with some pretty strong emotion from the situation with your husband–don’t feel pressured to make some big leap in your state. I suspect you are on the part of the journey where really processing and feeling these things is paramount so honor that is where you are now. As you embrace these feelings rather than feeling resistant to them and trying to replace them positively, you will naturally find their ‘charge’ weakening and in that state, it gets easier to feel more positive emotion more genuinely, and you aren’t ‘trying’ so hard to.
Hello Kelli,
Thanks for coming up with this podcast and share important values through it.
Looking forward to go through your pod cast.
Thanks for the share.
Shantanu.
Thanks Shantanu!
Hi,
I have been reading your blog and have found it to be really helpful. I was going through a rough patch in my life where I was really low on confidence and had a bleak outlook on my life in general. It was obviously triggered by a manifestation I wanted really bad not happening the way I wanted it to.
My question for you is this. What if you are the kind of person who was brought up to believe that the world was their oyster and hence grew up by completely believing everything was theirs to want? What if when reality of circumstances presented themselves they begin questioning everything they were told? What if the specific manifestation presented itself but I just didn’t know at the time that I wanted it? Because when I read your blog I see that consciously or not I have been following LOA and expecting things to happen just because I want them, however sometimes it doesn’t materialize and I question if they will ever. I know you said patience is key and to maintain a high vibe even though things might not be going your way, but I feel like that’s what I do all the time.
Hi Snigdha
I can only give really general responses when I haven’t talked to someone personally since I don’t have lots of relevant information. So I can’t tell you exactly why you personally are struggling in a particular way. The first thing I would say is you can’t run out of chances to manifest what is wanted, so if in hindsight you see there was an opportunity you wished you had taken, not all is lost. If that is triggering lots of emotion, there is something to see there so dig a bit and see what’s coming up for you. Secondly, we don’t really attract what we want, we attract what we are–just wanting something doesn’t mean we will get it. If that was the case, all this ‘work’ on changing our energy wouldn’t be necessary. So you have to consider your energy around these desired manifestations–do you really believe they are possible? Are there any conflicts where you may not actually want this thing for some reason? These are just some examples of questions to ask.
What about myopia, developed in early childhood (issues with eyesight) – is it because of resistance? Can it be healed mentally?
