When you begin learning about the law of attraction, the role of action in the manifesting process can quickly become a point of confusion and anxiety. Understanding this one point will help much of this confusion fall away.

Podcast #102: Law of Attraction: All Action is Inspired Action
Hi Kelli,
This podcast came at a really good time for me. I’m feeling exactly as you describe – disoriented because I’m trying to avoid acting out of a space of negative energy, but not feeling any positive inspiration at the moment to fill the void. I’m feeling very lethargic and I’m afraid I’ll just allow my life fall apart if I refuse to act based on fear of consequences. For example, I have an office job I really don’t enjoy and have been trying to part with for some time. There are all sorts of loose ends that need to be tied up there before I can move on to something else, but I can’t find any motivation to accomplish the tasks I need to do on a daily basis (at least not any positive motivation). When I say loose ends, I actually mean mountains upon mountains of backlog and paperwork. It’s very overwhelming for me to think about and I don’t even know where to start. I have been actively trying to move into a better head space before I start work on my office tasks (writing in a gratitude journal, listening to a podcast, etc.) to see if I can get some positive momentum going, but it doesn’t seem to be working. I’ve tried looking at my job in a more positive light – it provides me with income, I’ll be able to leave at some point, etc., but from a perspective of trying to act only out of positive motivation, I don’t seem to be able to accomplish this. I can’t wait for the inspiration to come because I have deadlines and people waiting on me, etc. Any advice? Thanks!
HI Jazzy
Sounds like being able to leave the job would be a pretty good motivator for doing these things. The tasks themselves still might not feel super enjoyable or fun, but that would make it easier to get through them. On the most extreme end, you could just leave your job and not do those things, but I imagine for most people, that isn’t an acceptable option. I suspect the lack of motivation to do this is a manifestation of some deeper stuff that isn’t actually related to the job, like self-sabotage for example. Give some thought to that and you might find yourself getting into a different head space.
Thanks for taking the time to respond! I think you’re right and there are some heavier energies at work I haven’t really addressed (just trying to pile good feelings on top) – maybe being worried about not having a plan for once I leave the job and believing I have to figure it all out. I’m going to take some time to let this sink in. I always feel much better after visiting your site. Thanks again!
You are very welcome. Definitely think a bit more about it. Even when it consciously doesn’t make sense, we make the choices we make because we believe there is some benefit, it offers some sort of protection.
Hello Kelli,
Awesome podcast here 🙂
I loved your topic very much,”All action is inspired actions”
Looking to go through your podcast, as I am stuck some where right now.

Hi Shantanu
Thanks for your comment and glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for this topic! I’ve wanted guidance on it for a while and, as always, you are right on. I went through the transitional period you mentioned for a year. It felt long and I did have the urge to rush it but when I think of it as moving away from a lifetime of programming it’s actually short. During this stage I forced certain actions because I was fixated on a particular oucome, as you said. I also didn’t take some helpful steps because I envisioned an “inspired action” as being a dramatic message from the Universe. This healing transitional stage just started ending and I have been taking more action. While some of the actions have come from clear divine messages like I mentioned above, mostly they just flow naturally from my energy and when I start to force I can tell. I love that actions are an extension of your alignment. “Inspired” action is a common LOA term but for me it feels more accurate to call it an aligned action. Thank you again for your lightwork!
Hi Ruby
Thanks so much for your comment and sharing your experience. I think anyone reading this will find it very helpful and insightful. My favorite part was talking about how this period of time seems very small when thinking about continuing on that way for years to come. When we look at it like this, the resistance we might feel to longer periods of time where we feel confused, aren’t taking lots of action, are processing emotions that haven’t been dealt with, etc…weakens considerably. These states certainly aren’t the end of the world, and if we can keep in mind the tremendous benefit they will provide, it seems like a no-brainer to let ourselves do it. Great stuff here!
Hi Kelli:
You’re very well spoken and I enjoy listening to you!
I’ve been trying to manifest a specific person (an ex boyfriend). I’ve been following everything to a T.
I’ve made positive changes to myself, made a vision board, Im grateful and thank the Universe everyday for helping me manifest him as my boyfriend/ fiancé/husband back to me except he’s not back yet. I write, I have a manifestation grid, I meditate. I do this but i dont know if I’m any closer to having him back in my life.
With what you said in the podcast, I’m concerned now that I am forcing it. I have taken a step back and we only speak when he contacts me which is about 2x a week. But I’m concerned now that maybe I am manipulating the situation by only speaking to him when he contacts me. I don’t know.
Do you have any suggestions or ideas that you think could help me?
I have also been sent plenty of signs from the universe very recently (I.e.: rainbows, 11:11’s, license plates w/ his name, money on the floor) but my concern is that maybe I am manifesting signs as opposed to a specific result.
Do u have any input?
❤️ Ashley
HI Ashley
Anytime we attach to specifics, we are trying to control the ‘how’ of our manifestation, of getting what we want, which is certain types of feelings ultimately. Maybe he is the person for you but maybe there is someone better–your mind is attached to him because it attaches to what is in front of us and what we have already experienced. Ultimately your control is in your energy, not in making specific things happen and making people do the things you want them to do. When we are energetically aligned, the things we want come easily and there is not ‘trying’ I know this probably isn’t the answer you were hoping for but it will be the most helpful ultimately. Just be open. Glad you enjoyed the podcast!
Hi Kelli,
I just listened to this podcast now and I want to thank you for stressing the point that it’s our energy that manifests the inspiration of an action whether it comes from a good motivation or a bad negative motivation. I have been trying to relax and feel good first to manifest but then I get a load of good motivated actions that are unrelated and I get overwhelmed about which one to pursue specially that they often require some good amount of effort and I don’t want to spend effort on action that’s not going to get me what I want. Any advice in that situation?
Thank you ^^
Hi Tina
This part of your comment struck me the most: ”I don’t want to spend effort on action that’s not going to get me what I want.” This is one of the things that trip us up with inspired action. This hope and/or expectation that some sort of result will come immediately from the action, and the core motivator not being doing something because we enjoy it or because it feels right and seeing where it leads, but hoping that we can still control our manifestations through action.
It’s okay we want certain things, and that our primary motivator for studying this teaching more deeply is to get them. Trying to pretend that isn’t true won’t get us very far. But even with this truth, it is totally possible to make these positive energetic shifts and doing things that feel good, the goal and reward in and of themselves, and not a means to an end, not just to get something.
Also keep in mind inspired action may not always seem comfortable.
I don’t like this “see where it leads” thing. I’m very result oriented and like to guarntee the result before making the action, atleast know that it’s truly going to lead to the result I want. Am I stuck like that?
No matter how carefully we calculate an action, no matter how hard we try, there is nothing we can do to ever guarantee 100 percent any specific result. That would mean being able to exert total control over other people and any other external factor involved in the situation, and that is not where our power lies. If that is your line of thinking, then yes, that will certainly make you very stuck and you won’t ever do anything. And when it comes to aligning with something through energy, this desire to control will certainly get in the way.
Hi Kelli !
Thanks for this podcast !
I subscribed to Get your love on a few months ago and I really enjoyed it.
I’m still a bit confused on the subject of action though…
I’ll give you an example:
I’ve been trying to manifest a great relationship. Energy-wise, I’m feeling really good lately. So I’m just living my life, trying to enjoy it as much as I can, without fixating on relationships. But my mind is often telling me stuff like “how can you meet someone if you don’t go out”.
I work every day in an office so I travel to work in the morning, spend the day in the office (no single men there) and come back home in the evening, going grocery shopping etc. occasionally. And I’m thinking; even if I feel great at home, I’m very unlikely to meet someone there. Or in public transports. Or doing grocery shopping at the same place every day. And yet I don’t particularly want to go out every night, I actually feel great relaxing at home or going for a walk vs going clubbing…
So not sure how to deal with this. I’d love to have your opinion 🙂
Thanks for your time!
Hi Annabelle
Thanks for your comment and I am so glad you enjoyed the program. Not surprisingly,it is my best seller! Your issue is common so don’t worry too much. Just your run of the mill block of trying to figure out the ‘how’ and your mind being unable to based on your current circumstances and what it believes is ‘necessary’ to meet someone. I met my husband in the most unlikely of circumstances after a series of events that normally would not occur all came together to bring us to that same place. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do to meet someone–there are infinite ways this person can come into your life that would involve no action on your part–this person helping you change a flat tire, having a nudge to go into the coffee shop you have passed on your way to work for five years and there the person is, someone asking about you after seeing your profile on their friend’s facebook page (this recently happened to a friend and she is now in a serious relationship with this person and she really likes him). Taking action can sometimes be a good form of energy work because it helps create positive expectation but the key is trying to remain detached from any results we may get from taking the action, which is something we usually have to work on a bit. So if there are things you think would help, you can do them but only if you think these things might actually be enjoyable in some way. Don’t do the things you really don’t want to do–you really don’t have to do them.
It makes sense. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly Kelli! I really love your approach and the way you explain things!
You are very welcome Annabelle!
