Getting the Law of Attraction Ball Rolling: Part 5

Greetings conscious creators. Welcome to part 5 of my little series on getting started with law of attraction, or good old LOA, for short. It looks like this is going to be the last part. By this point, I think I have covered the major points to get the ball rolling for you.

This certainly won’t be my last post on LOA, so if you are liking what I’m throwing out there on this topic, there will be more in the future, I assure you.

When I first got the idea to put this little series together, I was a bit reluctant, because I am definitely not an expert on this subject. I still don’t fully understand how to explain the ‘bad’ stuff that happens to people. And, I wondered whether I should speak on the topic at all, given I still had so many questions about it myself.

But, I got over that pretty quickly because I realized that there was a great deal I did understand about LOA, and when I started applying what I learned, I experienced profound changes in my life.

And, I knew that while I could not cover every aspect of this topic, or confidently answer any question that came my way about it, I could share information that would be of great use to people based on my own personal experiences.

You are going to wonder about the ‘bad’ stuff too, and if you give it too much thought, it will lead you away from working with LOA, from consciously shaping your reality into what you want it to be. That is what almost happened to me, and if you have been reading all of these posts, why I have broached this subject in the beginning of each one.

On a deeper level, this concept will resonate with you, and you will recognize something you believe to be a truth; but, to the logical part of your mind, this won’t make any sense, and this part of your mind is very powerful.

You can easily be led away from this work if you don’t try to quell this aspect of yourself, and commit to just being open. Be okay with lack of ‘proof.’ Be okay with it not making sense. Be okay with not fully understanding LOA before embracing it. Don’t be afraid to go after the life you want. Trying to be happy, and bring the things you desire into your reality, is a very worthwhile goal to pursue. That people get criticized for this will never cease to amaze me.

So, onto the final concepts I wanted to cover in this little introduction to LOA, along with pictures of my travels–the dream I made a reality by opening my mind, and trusting the process.  Today’s photos will be from my time spent in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Feeling Like You Already Have What You Want

In theory, this is very easy to understand, but like many ideas we ‘get’ on an intellectual level, actually putting them into practice can be quite the challenge. LOA is all about how we feel, and as it has been mentioned throughout the series, you have to find ways to feel good now, before you get the things you are after. One of these ‘good’ feelings is one that mirrors how you would actually feel if you already had whatever it is you’re trying to attract.

This can seem really hard, especially since not having what we want can make us feel really badly; we have no problem defaulting to negative feelings, and it is easy to get caught up in them. But, if you can understand one very important thing, you will have a much easier time genuinely feeling like you already have what you seek.

Whatever it is you want is not actually what you TRULY want. You desire whatever it is you desire because of the FEELING having it would produce. At the core, we just want to be happy, and lots of different feelings would produce that end result of ‘happiness’, like not feeling the strain of financial difficulties, feeling fulfilled from pursuing our passions or feeling a sense of freedom from self-employment, to name a few.

You can trigger these feelings in a variety of ways, right now, regardless of your current circumstances. You don’t have to wait until you manifest your desire— in fact, you can’t wait, or you will just stay stuck where you are.

Think for a second about the things you want—why do you want them? What feelings do they evoke? Identify those feelings, and work on finding ways to stir them up now. If you are trying to attract circumstances that would allow you to pursue your passion professionally, because you want a sense of fulfillment, what could you do now that would make you feel fulfilled? Maybe you could do some volunteer work.

If you hope to attract more money because you think it will enhance your peace of mind, and reduce your stress, what could you do now that would ease your stress? Maybe it is taking some time to indulge in your favorite hobby, or letting go of some commitments that have you overextending yourself to the max.

Getting into the feelings will not only help you manifest more quickly, it will help bring you bigger and better things, above and beyond, what you want at this moment. What is on your attraction radar now is most likely only the tip of the iceberg for what is possible for you—it is easy to set the bar low because of the limiting beliefs still roaming around in our minds.

Focusing on the feelings allows the Universe to truly work its magic, and you will get plenty of stuff that gives you the feelings you want, whether it was the specific things you have in mind now, or stuff that is even better.

Don’t Worry about Uncovering Every Limiting Belief

As I got deeper into my attraction work, and expanded my understanding of how this whole LOA shebang operated, I started worrying about all the limiting beliefs I held that I am probably not even aware of, and may never be aware of. Oh boy… will my attraction efforts always be stunted because of some deep down crap I may never uncover? That is an upsetting thought to say the least. But, don’t worry about totally clearing out your mind—I am sure there are very few people who are completely aware of every little, itty, bitty limiting belief they hold.

You don’t have to worry about plumbing the deepest depths of your subconscious in your work with LOA. The only limiting beliefs you have to worry about are the ones directly related to what you are trying to attract, and they will easily, and quite eagerly, come to the surface.

Once you identify the things you want, some uncomfortable feelings will arise within you—this is that bastard we refer to as ‘resistance.’ All these yucky feelings are a reflection of the limiting beliefs you hold that tell you what you want is not possible.

When these feelings come up, sit with them for a bit—all sorts of things will go through your head, such as memories of past events. Whatever is coming up now is meaningful, and will give you insight into what your limiting beliefs are concerning this particular desire. Now that you have identified them, you can get to work on shifting them to  more empowering beliefs, and weakening their effects on you.

As you go along, you will definitely dig a bit deeper into your mind, and bring up new stuff, stuff that may surprise you. But, don’t worry about having to root out every ounce of crap in order to see results.

Ignore Outside Appearances

So, you have started your work with LOA, and you are ready to receive. You keep looking to your outside experience for proof what you are doing is working. But, you aren’t seeing any. Things still seem to be exactly the same. In some cases, things may actually seem worse–if you find this to be the case, check out this post where I talk about why things can sometimes go to hell a bit, before turning around, when you begin your work with LOA. It will make you feel better, I promise.

The doubt creeps in, and you start thinking this is all a bunch of new age crap. The world is a cruel, harsh place where things are supposed to suck, or at the most, just be okay..who was I kidding thinking I had any sort of real control over my life? The people who have it really good had advantages I just don’t have; they are simply lucky.

Poppycock to all this I say. I get it, I still feel that way sometimes when I think something I want is not coming to me as quickly as I had hoped. But, I have made enough changes now that I can say with confidence you must ignore outside appearances–they don’t mean anything.

All the work you are doing internally will bear fruit, you just have to be patient. Look for the little victories and draw strength from them. Identify where you are still having resistance because this is what is blocking you.

Keep going back to blog posts like this, and any other materials that resonate with you to keep conditioning your mind to think in this new way–that won’t happen overnight.  Know that if you are changing the inside, the outside has no choice but to change with you.

Keeping Your Attraction Work under Wraps

Protecting your precious energy is crucial, especially when you are first starting out, and not fully convinced this stuff is the real deal. You may worry what other people will think of your believing in something like LOA, and you may feel reluctant to talk about it. That’s okay…you don’t need anyone chipping away at your fledgling efforts, and reinforcing any doubts you may have.

If you think there is someone in your life with whom you could talk about it, by all means, do it. But, don’t discuss it with the kind of people you know will crap all over anything having to do with positive thinking and self-improvement. Protect your desires and don’t dissipate your efforts to clean up your vibration, and raise your energy by letting other people get into your head. You will have enough to contend with dealing with your own junk–don’t compound it by taking in other people’s ‘stuff’ too.

So, I hope that this series of posts has helped you gain a better understanding of LOA, and some good tips on implementing the concept in your everyday life. So, just to recap once more the main points in this series of posts….

  • Fear not..you don’t need to feel good every freaking second to clean up your vibration enough to begin really bringing the good stuff to you. Remember the 51-49 percent rule.
  • No matter how much your ego justifies feeling all crappy, and staying in victim mode, you have to work on feeling good right now.
  • The past doesn’t matter; all that happened to you up until now was a result of the beliefs and energy you held; now that you are beliefs and energy are changing, your outside experience must follow–it has no other choice.
  • Work on identifying the limiting beliefs you have about love, money, success, happiness and all that jazz; keep feeding yourself information that will counteract all that junk. It is your best defense against the ‘old’ you.
  • You want more? Better start feeling grateful for what you already have, like stat. Gratitude raises your vibe ,and puts you in a state of mind that will draw good stuff to you, like the proverbial moth to the flame.
  • F#%^ logical thinking–it has no place in creating the life you want. It is a dream killer. Don’t worry about how, just focus on what. The ‘how’ is none of your business.
  • Resist the urge to control and manipulate situations to achieve your ends. Actions you take to get what you want should feel good. Don’t get too attached to certain situations–whatever happens happens. You will get what you want–don’t convince yourself the fulfillment of your desire must look a certain way.
  • What you actually want is a feeling, not a particular object or situation–work on finding ways to genuinely evoke those feelings right now, and you will attract things that give you those much-sought-after feelings.
  • Don’t worry about uncovering every limiting belief you have–focus on the resistance that comes up when you think of specific desires. Then work on that stuff.
  • Keep your interest and work with LOA to yourself if you are concerned how others may react–don’t let them poop all over your energy and efforts to improve your life.

  1. KC,

I’ve learned more from this 5 part series than I have studying any LOA tutorial. Well done! My big challenge has been ignoring appearances, and I’m overcoming that by paying it forward, helping others, detaching from outcomes and seeing the illusory nature of appearances. We’re working with a blank slate here; you see what you choose to feel.

I’ll shared this on kingged.com to boost your traffic and enlighten my fellow Kingg-lings.

    Thanks!

    1. Hi there
I am glad you found it so helpful. I think ignoring outside appearances is the hardest part for most of us. We want to find a reason on on the outside to feel good on the inside, but it works the exact opposite way. You are right..we have a blank slate that can serve as a base for whatever we want. Thanks for sharing on Kingged!

  2. I have the same questions (reservations?) about the LOA teachings i.e. you create everything that ever happens to you, good or bad.

I do, however, firmly believe that your thoughts and emotions directly influence what happens to you. When I am mentally focused on a goal…thing happen 🙂

    1. Hey Annette
Thanks for taking the time to comment. Yeah, I think that it is natural we kind of question stuff like that, but I always say..you are interested in it for the good, so just focus on that for now. And, like you, my experience has validated that there is something to this, so I am going to keep working on it!

  3. Great post, Kelli. Two things I’m taking away from this today: 1) stop fretting over limiting beliefs I’ve held that I am probably not even aware of; and 2) it’s not the ‘thing’ you want. It’s the feeling. Bing! A light went off. Well done! Thanks so much! Going to check out your other posts now. Peace out.

    1. Hey Jeanne
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment; so glad you liked the post. It is funny because in putting together what I wanted to write about, I almost forgot about these two things, but had recently seen these issues brought up on another blog, and I was like I definitely need to bring these two points up!

  4. Hello Kelly, What A wonderful article.

I really did enjoy the article as well as the pictures shared! So much thought behind this, I loved how she states to let go of some commitments that have you overextending yourself to the max, I can truly relate to this one. WOWSY>> No is not part of my vocabulary,, ( I will work on this one)

Now for those limiting beliefs this may have to do with my (NOT SAYING NO HUH?)
Wow so deep! I guess I need to look deeper within to see what is blocking me.

Thanks for sharing .. Chery :))

    1. Hi Chery
Thanks so much for taking the time to comment. I am so glad you liked the article, and that it provided information that will hopefully help you on your own journey to ‘attracting’ what you want. Yes, feeling like we can’t say no can definitely raise stress levels…it is a hard one.

    1. Hi Holley
Glad you like the post, and that you want to read the others. I think it will give you a really good overview of working with LOA. Enjoy!

  5. Hello Kelli –

Through your mind power, by focusing attention you are directing the universal creative energy to fill the mold, thereby making your vision more and more substantial. If this process continues, your vision will gather so much energy. Thanks for the great post Kelli!

    1. Thanks Nate…I love the way you put that–directing the energy to fill the mold. Great way to explain it. Glad you liked the post!

  6. What I like about this blogpost is that we must definitely be passionate about what we do. And we do not have to feel 100% good or be 100% in the mood to take action. Actually any action is better than no action. Action kills fear and the more we do something the better we get at it.

Mistakes are the only way how we grow. It is no different than learning how to ride a bike. First time you do it you fall, the second time you fall off and the third time you get up and ride it!!

Another thing is that we must fail forward by taking risks making new mistakes and learning from them. And that is the only way that leads to success and there is no such thing as a handout only a hand up teaching others what we learned and got results.

That way when coachable people master what we teach us they will be better than us, sponsor more people in their business and win big!!

    Lawrence Bergfeld

    1. Hi Lawrence
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I am glad you liked the post. You are so right about how it is okay to make mistakes so we can learn and grow from them. I think we are sometimes afraid to move forward if we can’t convince ourselves everything will go 100 percent perfectly from the first step. Great points you brought up here.
