{"id":6156,"date":"2017-07-05T08:30:11","date_gmt":"2017-07-05T12:30:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.livelifemadetoorder.com\/blog\/blog\/?p=6156"},"modified":"2021-08-02T06:10:10","modified_gmt":"2021-08-02T06:10:10","slug":"law-of-attraction-got-what-wanted","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.livelifemadetoorder.com\/blog\/law-of-attraction-got-what-wanted\/","title":{"rendered":"Law of Attraction: I Got What I Wanted and I&#8217;m Waiting for the Other Shoe to Drop"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I got what I wanted, what I dreamed of, for years and years. I made it happen, I manifested it. Holy shit! It&#8217;s really wonderful and I&#8217;m so happy and feel so blessed. So what&#8217;s the problem, right? Well, now I&#8217;m waiting for the other shoe to drop! Why do I sabotage myself like this? Why am I still so fearful, like this is too good to be true, like I don&#8217;t get to be this happy, so don&#8217;t get used to it because any minute now something tragic is going to happen and my bubble will burst. I just want to relax, be here now and really enjoy manifesting my dream, but there is a part of me that sleeps with one eye open, and it sucks!! What is wrong with me??! <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Insidious Global Beliefs<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nothing is wrong with you, trust me. This is one of those beliefs that really aren\u2019t borne of our own personal experience. It might seem that way since we have manifested \u2018evidence\u2019 of it in our own life countless times. But it was something, that was for the most part, absorbed as one of those beliefs that make up the generally pessimistic, fearful thought system we have all created together. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When we read something like this, our logical-make-sense-of-everything-so-I-can-buy-in-mind might be wondering where this all started. How did we come to these conclusions? Where did these beliefs first take root? Who was the very first person to think this way?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> Great questions and ones I can\u2019t answer as much as I would love to. Suffice to say, it was a group effort. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s not like a belief in unworthiness because you had an abusive father who told you that you were worthless. It\u2019s not like a belief in not being good enough because every boyfriend you ever had left you for someone that you perceived as \u2018better\u2019 than you in some way. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s just one of those things we have come to believe because over time we just came to an agreement that this is how life is. Life is hard. No one gets to have everything they want. Gotta take the good with the bad. For you to gain, someone else has to lose. So on and so forth.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You observe this sort of belief playing out the world over in big and small ways. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The woman who just had a beautiful baby and she gets diagnosed with cancer. The man who just got married to the love of his life getting into a terrible car accident. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You finally start saving some money and an unexpected car repair wipes you out. You finally got a great job and your boyfriend breaks up with you a week later. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But don\u2019t forget that the energies and beliefs come <em>first<\/em> and <em>then<\/em> the manifestations. It is easy to forget this when we are looking at the experiences of others, whether individuals or humans collectively. Limiting and fearful beliefs certainly seem to hold more weight when we see them on such a large scale. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Knowing What We Know<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If there is a belief that the \u2018good\u2019 happening somehow makes you more vulnerable to the \u2018bad,\u2019 that the \u2018bad\u2019 thing happening is directly linked to the \u2018good\u2019 thing that preceded it, you have to take some time to consider why you feel that way. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you think happiness is a state that can\u2019t be maintained consistently and regularly, but something that is fleeting, that isn\u2019t for everyone?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you think you don\u2019t deserve to have only \u2018good\u2019 things happen? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Are you afraid feeling happy and satisfied with your life will make \u2018bad\u2019 things feel more painful, and you fear that pain?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you think focusing less on what is \u2018wrong\u2019, unwanted, or what could go wrong, somehow makes it more likely to happen?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you think it is important to focus on what isn\u2019t wanted, think about it a lot or just worry in general so the Universe \u2018knows\u2019 what you don\u2019t want to happen? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Do you think there has to be some sort of \u2018balance\u2019 in life, and the \u2018bad\u2019 things have to be as \u2018bad\u2019 as the good things are good?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Now, when you weigh these sorts of beliefs against beliefs like the law of attraction, that your energy creates, that you live in a loving Universe, how does it hold up? <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If we know it is our energy that creates our reality, and life is just not random, then we know that being deliberate in our focus helps us attract more of what is wanted and less of what is unwanted. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is not a call, however, to try and \u2018use\u2019 the law of attraction to micromanage your reality and try to insulate yourself from any manifestations your mind has judged as \u2018bad.\u2019 Just had to throw that reminder in there. <\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If we know the Universe is a loving force set up to work for us and not against us, there is no limit to the \u2018goodness\u2019 we can manifest.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If there is infinite abundance, there is more than enough to go around, and it isn\u2019t rationed out. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If we deserve because we &#8216;are&#8217; and not based on what we &#8216;do&#8217;, we know it makes no sense we would be limited in our \u2018goodness\u2019 because no one person would be able to &#8216;do&#8217; enough to have such a great life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">If something \u2018bad\u2019 happens to you after something \u2018good\u2019 happens, it had nothing to do with the \u2018good\u2019 thing. It happened because something in your energy lent itself to this thing manifesting.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Key to Releasing This Belief<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The key to releasing this belief is actually not different than the key to releasing a belief of any nature. But it is particularly key to these global beliefs that really aren\u2019t truly our own. And this key is&#8230;wait for it&#8230;.simply deciding you are not going to believe it anymore. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">That is all you can really do with beliefs. Yes, you can engage different tools and techniques to help you make these shifts and do whatever works for you, whether an affirmation, some sort of scripting exercise or whatever else you come across. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But at the end of the day, it all comes down to this decision. <em>Nothing<\/em> will make you stop believing something independent of <em>your willingness<\/em> to stop believing it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can affirm your new belief from sun up to sundown, but it won\u2019t do a lick of good if you truly aren\u2019t willing to let the old one go, if your mind is waiting for \u2018evidence\u2019 to come along to justify releasing it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You are unlikely to amass enough \u2018proof\u2019 from the \u2018outside\u2019 to satisfy your mind, who will then let you stop believing that good things happening somehow means something bad has to happen to \u2018even\u2019 things out or whatever. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is especially true because, like I mentioned earlier, our collective belief system is definitely in need of improvement, and you will see no shortage of \u2018evidence\u2019 thinking this way has its merits. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is nothing I can really say to \u2018prove\u2019 to you that this fear really doesn\u2019t hold any water. There is no logical argument. Like any other limiting belief that feels badly, you just have to be willing to consider it isn\u2019t true. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It boils down to choice. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is this willingness to trust the good feelings you get from beliefs that the Universe works for you, that your energy creates your reality, that you are worthy and deserving for your mere existence,etc&#8230;are meant to alert you to a truth, and the bad feelings you get from thinking things like this are meant to alert you to something that isn\u2019t true. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">I know this is probably an extremely unsatisfying answer to your mind, that wants specific, concrete steps it can take to make these changes. It wants to know what we can \u2018do\u2019 to ensure our vibration gets \u2018fixed.\u2019 But it just really doesn\u2019t work that way with energy. <\/span><\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nothing Means Anything<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Everything that happens to us essentially has no inherent, objective meaning. We assign a meaning to it, and some sort of emotional response follows. We don\u2019t like what we don\u2019t like because it causes us to feel feelings that are unpleasant in some way. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having negative reactions to the various issues us humans experience is understandable, and it\u2019s okay to not like things like financial problems, health issues, getting broken up with, losing your job,etc\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It\u2019s understandable to be particularly bummed about these unwanted manifestations when things have been going really good. Our mind was really hoping that it would be smooth sailing the rest of the way, and it\u2019s disheartening when it isn\u2019t. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The sense of contrast is greater, and it can be unpleasant. When things were going shitty anyway, and another shitty thing gets piled on, it might not sting as badly because you were already feeling pretty badly. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This doesn\u2019t have to add to the \u2018pain\u2019 of the unwanted when it was on the heels of the \u2018good\u2019 however. That doesn\u2019t automatically mean we have to resist these experiences more strongly because our mind didn\u2019t like having its bubble burst. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We do have an option to respond differently, to reject the meanings and conclusions our mind is formulating. We can allow these reactions, we can allow ourselves to process the emotions and fears being triggered. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But then we can pivot to looking at these manifestations in a way that will serve us much better. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So when something happens, you get to decide what it means. You can recognize it as vibrational feedback, and see what is being shown to you. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You can choose to learn from the experience, and use it to further help you create a dominant vibration that lends itself to the good stuff. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So you start making more money but then your boyfriend breaks up with you two weeks later. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">But deep down you knew the relationship wasn\u2019t working anyway, and it\u2019s just a bruised ego. Now you can reap the benefit of your single status giving you more time for the inner work that will help you manifest an awesome partner. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You meet a great guy but then the next day you get fired from your job. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You really didn\u2019t like that job anyway, or you really hated it, but you couldn\u2019t bring yourself to walk away from the fat salary voluntarily. Now you can look for work you actually like. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Things are finally on track with your business, but then you start having health problems. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You realize you have really been neglecting yourself in a variety of ways, and this forces you into a space of taking better care of yourself, that gives you an excuse to do the beneficial things you kept putting off because you were too busy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">It is so <em>crucial<\/em> to understand that just because something happened your mind didn\u2019t like doesn\u2019t mean it is \u2018bad\u2019 or something went \u2018wrong.\u2019 <em>Nothing<\/em> could be further from the truth. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Working on your energy can reap so many benefits beyond just getting the specific things your mind wants to manifest, and the \u2018unwanted\u2019 manifestations present us opportunities to become aware of energies that aren\u2019t serving us, and then change them. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">These manifestations give us an opportunity to manifest from a very different space, a space where we open ourselves up to receiving in a way that may not seem possible now, that allows the best of the best to show up. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Again, if something \u2018bad\u2019 happens after something \u2018good\u2019 happens or when things seem to finally be falling into place, they have no inherent relationship. The idea they do is nothing but a fear-based limiting belief that makes no sense when you really think about it. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">So enjoy your good manifestations. They are not a danger to you, they aren\u2019t setting you up for \u2018bad\u2019 ones. Things can be good. Life can be easy. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We get to decide what our manifestations mean and how we feel about them. If we are always being served by what happens to us, that can soften the edges a bit of the stuff we don\u2019t like.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>There is no other shoe.<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Your Turn<\/span><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">What did you think about the post?
