Enjoy

“I can’t get up!”

It sounded like a lame impersonation of the old Medic-Alert commercials. I did fall. And I couldn’t get up. Shooting pains screamed through my back. I instantly broke out in tears, wailing that I couldn’t get up and that my back hurt so much. After a minute of sobbing – like a baby who lost its rattle – Kelli calmly helped me off of the floor.

Welcome to the jungle, eh?

This was one of a few breakdown I suffered through after a month at the jungle hut/house in Costa Rica. The first month was a breeze. The second month was a different story. My mind and body moved into breakdown mode, my addled noodle running incessantly and my back pain increasing to unbearable levels and fatigue bitch slapping me into submission.

I eventually made one of the clearest decisions of my life along with Kelli; I chose to leave the sit early. Thank the lucky stars I did because I have my sanity back AND I have 4 valuable law of attraction lessons to teach you.

1:Force Negates

It started with intense back pain. Chronic fatigue set in next. Then,my mind raced like a racehorse who’d drunk 15 gallons of espresso. All were distinct signals; I was forcing things and in so doing I was moving from a fun, playful, attractive- to- awesome- conditions space to a serious, painful, attractive- to shitty- conditions space.

Force negates. LOA lesson #1 learned deep in the remote jungles of Costa Rica.

I had walked Thunder the doggy for 1 to 2 to even 4 hours every day through some demanding, treacherous, taxing terrain. Steep hills, endless muck and mud and sharp declines broke my mind and body down because I didn’t take a few break days each week. I forced myself to do the walks because I was desperate to fill time, because I was so goddamned bored.

So by forcing things the pleasant, high energy experience I had created/attracted during most of month one automatically ended. My stomach problems increased. I became bored, anxious, worried, and almost felt like I was growing mad.

Here’s the LOA deal: I had outgrown this experience about 3 weeks into the sit. The home owner neglected to tell us a variety of things about being here that would have been very important to know in the decision-making process, and more likely than not, we would have decided it wasn’t for us.

At that moment I should have let Kelli know that I was done/finito/gonzo, and we’d have attracted our next fun, enjoyable, exotic destination. Instead, I forced things through until I attracted enough mental and physical sickness/low energy experiences that I finally surrendered and told the homeowner that we were leaving.

2: Surrendering Attracts High Rollers

During the six weeks we lived in the jungle I worked about two to four hours for five of those weeks. That means I worked 10 to 20 hours over a month and a half time frame, which is the least that I’ve worked during my 8 year career as a blogger….EVER! I surrendered. I published a blog post each Friday after Kelli and I trudged into town, checked my email and did little else.

During this same 6 week stretch I was featured on Neil Patel’s wildly popular blog, I appeared on Forbes.com and just a few days ago I was asked to share my thoughts on megastar/most famous entrepreneur alive (at least I think so) Richard Branson’s Virgin blog. The post should go live in January.

I mean…..shit…..Neil Patel is a budding celebrity and does it get any more high profile than Richard Branson or Forbes? Aha! The power of surrender. All I did in the jungle was walk the dog, machete the grounds like a madman, pick fruit, read, meditate and chill.

Didn’t think about blogging much at all because we had no electricity or internet in the place. So since I surrendered my blog and online business during this stretch, almost completely refraining from working, I attracted some monstrously big breakthroughs.

Tip: If you feel like you’re spinning your manifesting wheels take more days off. Take off a week. Move your mind completely away from your biz or job, for a day or three or seven. Practice the art of surrendering what you know to attract circumstances you couldn’t dream of.

Still on Cloud 9 after attracting this Holy Trinity of manifestations; no way in Hades I even dreamed of nailing spots down on these blogs.

3: Quit When You’re Ahead

Before I officially broke down with a wicked illness I told the homeowner we were leaving early. After a week of agony/misery/torture/self flagellation with a wet noodle,I made the call. Of course the call was a week late but I still quit when I was ahead.

Even though we were misled, in the spirit of openness we decided to stay, because we believed there would be some benefit for us in this environment, and we pushed aside the urgings of our ego to leave because we were lied to, and as such the guy should be ‘punished.’ But that benefit started draining and then it was time to reconsider.

One time in my life I quit so late, ignoring sickness warning signals, that I nearly bit the Big One. I lost some 20 pounds in India after suffering through giardia and became dangerously dehydrated. After three days I knew something was wrong but I tried to gut it out, not quitting/going to the hospital when I was still kinda OK, and I almost paid for it with my life. I attracted a hellishly terrifying situation. Lesson learned.

So this time I knew to quit as I spotted the warning signs: heavy fatigue, bad back, mental chaos, intuitive pull to move on to something fun, fulfilling and enjoyable. I did quit and we already booked an absolutely awesome apartment in a beautiful area of Costa Rica……with electricity, the internet and yep, we will not have to drop the kids in the pool outside there (meaning, no outhouse).

No need to suffer just to manifest something awesome. You may suffer here and there but any marked, sharp or prolonged nasty experiences signal that you are moving away from Who You Really Are out of fear or some other low energy driver. I made a high energy decision and manifested a high energy outcome quickly, versus quitting when it was too late.

4:Resistance Melts into Your Clarity

I vividly recall going “All New Jersey”on the homeowner.

Really good guy but he had a tough time at first getting my message: Kelli and I were leaving. No matter what. I actually wasn’t nasty at all. I *did* drop 3 F Bombs but my voice was level, I was honest and I worked with him on a resolution, staying one week later than my intended quitting day so he could return home to watch the dog.

I had clarity on my side. A knowing. So even though he said he couldn’t return because he had plans, his resistance melted into my utterly crystal clear clarity within a 10 minute phone conversation. This was NOT about using force; although I cursed a few times because my back was in excruciating pain and I felt like I was gonna throw up from the stomach parasite which did its best ”Alien”impression for a few days I was pretty calm, focused and fully clear on my decision.

Law of Attraction Tip: if you’re struggling with some type of resistance in your life get really, really, really clear on your intent. I mean REALLY clear. How did I get clear? Through agony and suffering.

I have woken up three to six times a night for sometimes over an hour at a time over the past month here, to either piss in a vile, nauseating jar (due to my terror of going to the outhouse with scorpions, centipedes, bullet ants and notorious….and deadly….fer de lance pit vipers crawling around) or to let the dog out.

The prior night before our phone discussion I suffered through excruciating back pain, dyspepsia, nausea, a racing mind and terrible insomnia.

I recall saying to myself when I woke after that fitful night: “Thank You Universe! Through my low energy misery I got the message loud and clear: time to fucking bounce!” Pure clarity in that decision. Pure knowing.

When the homeowner attempted to convince me to stay (for literally 4 seconds before I jumped in) I told him we were leaving and that was that. Almost like a Jedi Mind Trick but it’s the power of clarity. I owned we were breaking our contract but told him his lack of transparency led us to make a commitment we wouldn’t have made otherwise.

It’s like his trying to convince me to stay was as if he was trying to convince me the sun would rise in the West the next day. My knowing was different. He could never convince me.

I had clarity on my side. So any form of resistance to our intended manifestation, from his initial decision to tell us we had to stay or to finding a place to rent (we found one within 24 hours of our decision) melted like an ice cube in a scalding hot cup of tea.

Get clear guys. Resistance is a slave to your clarity.

Your Turn

What LOA lessons did you learn from my jungle stay?

What manifestation lessons have you learned in your life recently?

I may be appearing on all these world famous sites as the “digital nomad guy” but I’ve written a slew of helpful, practical tips laden, bite-sized law of attraction eBooks to help you manifest the life of your dreams.
