{"id":2691,"date":"2015-04-20T06:04:08","date_gmt":"2015-04-20T10:04:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.livelifemadetoorder.com\/blog\/blog\/?p=2691"},"modified":"2021-07-31T07:31:04","modified_gmt":"2021-07-31T07:31:04","slug":"law-of-attraction-shifting-energy-miserable","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.livelifemadetoorder.com\/blog\/law-of-attraction-shifting-energy-miserable\/","title":{"rendered":"Law of Attraction: Shifting Energy When You&#8217;re Freaking Miserable"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">While not always the case, many people often start working with law of attraction when the shit has really hit the fan. There may be a bit of desperation.\u00a0Things really suck and they are willing to try anything to bring some relief.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The idea we can control our reality through our thoughts, feelings and beliefs gives a glimmer of hope that maybe, just maybe, life can get better if we can adopt some more empowering and positive ones.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Maybe, just maybe, we don&#8217;t have to keep suffering and letting our life be dictated by outside forces.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The concept seems simple enough, but as anyone who has tried to work consciously with their energy from this sort of mental and emotional space knows, it feels really tough to just buy into this fully.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Just getting all happy is possible in theory, but if you are dealing with some heavy shit, that probably won&#8217;t happen. There is an incredible amount of momentum behind the fear, anger, resentment, anxiety and hopelessness.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You have probably amassed quite the arsenal of &#8216;proof&#8217; of the limiting beliefs that have created your reality up until this point. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Now that you have studied law of attraction a bit, you may get in theory your experiences were borne of the beliefs, but as for really, really getting it and being able to just drop those beliefs in favor of their happy, shiny counterparts? Unlikely.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">If you have spent your whole life believing you are a victim of circumstance or &#8216;unlucky&#8217;, all of a sudden believing you are a powerful creator, to the very core of your being, probably won&#8217;t happen.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">There may be a great deal of resistance to taking responsibility for the life you have created thus far\u2014and by this, I don&#8217;t mean blame. That alone can be a major stumbling block.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You may develop&#8217; unrealistic&#8217; expectations. I am normally not a fan of that word but in this instance it is fitting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You&#8217;ll need things to happen in a certain timeframe and with each day that passes with no &#8216;results&#8217; the anxiety and worry will build, moving you even further away from what you want.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You&#8217;ll try to just push down all the negative feelings and pretend you are okay when you&#8217;re not, thinking that is what you are &#8216;supposed&#8217; to do.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You&#8217;ll do all the techniques that you are &#8216;supposed&#8217; to do, and wonder why nothing is changing.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Now that you have a better understanding of how our reality is created, you may feel even worse because you just can&#8217;t seem to get things right. You are mad at yourself for not being able to make the changes you want to make.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">I won&#8217;t lie&#8230;coming from this type of energy can be a challenge, but you are not doomed by any means.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You just may have to work with the process in a way that goes a bit deeper than &#8216;figure out what you want and then just feel good about getting it.&#8217;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">If we had no resistance that would really be it, but we do. And you probably have a massive amount right now, so that is where you need to start.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">It may not be pretty, but you would be amazed at how quickly you can start feeling better, and manifesting things that show what you want is possible.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Here are some helpful nuggets to get your energy moving in a genuine way.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Don&#8217;t Try to Get All Happy&#8230;It&#8217;s Too Much of a Leap and It Isn&#8217;t Necessary<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Hey, if you are able to shift your energy from feeling like utter crap to shitting rainbows, by all means. I am not here to discourage that one little bit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">But, anyone who would be capable of making such a shift probably would probably be in a much better place already.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">If you can&#8217;t, trying to force it will be a huge waste of your time, and you will probably end up feeling worse than you do now.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The thing that trips people up with attraction is all the emphasis on feeling really good, getting rid of negative thoughts,etc..<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Yeah, that is the ultimate goal because you attract based on your predominant thoughts, feelings and beliefs in that moment.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">And we all just want to feel good so that is why we want to work on that first and foremost. Then we attract all sorts of things that amplify those warm fuzzies.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">But, then when you can&#8217;t get all manically happy after feeling like garbage for a year, two years, 10 years, possibly your whole freaking life, you get worried you won&#8217;t be able to get what you want.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You think you are too damaged to get the law of attraction to &#8216;work&#8217; for you.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You may even begin to think the whole thing is BS, and then you give up, missing a massive opportunity to turn your life around in ways you can&#8217;t even imagine. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The LOA will still be working for you no doubt, but you&#8217;ll go right back to creating unconsciously, getting the same distastrous results over and over again.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Attraction is not an all or nothing proposition where you are either completely clean &#8216;vibrationally&#8217; and all good stuff happens or you have some &#8216;kinks&#8217; and only bad things can happen. It is a bit more complex than that. Most of us have quite the mix happening vibration-wise.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">If you are feeling beaten down by life, depressed, frustrated and hopeless, it is okay if you can&#8217;t just get happy.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">That&#8217;s totally normal. You don&#8217;t have to get to that space to start seeing improvements. You don&#8217;t have to banish every negative thought, never to return. You don&#8217;t have to completely shift your negative beliefs so there is no longer a trace of them in your vibration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You just have to get things moving in a better direction to start. You just need to open up just a little bit of energy that is compatible with what you want.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You just have to work on feeling better, not necessarily good.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">If you do a bit of &#8216;work&#8217; on yourself today and wake up tomorrow not feeling like you want to jump off a bridge for the first time in six months, that shows energy is shifting. Celebrate it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">If you have spent your days consumed with anxiety or depression, and you can get into a better-feeling space for even just 30 minutes, that is a major feat energetically speaking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">If you start to believe there may be hope for you yet, even if you aren&#8217;t sure how things will get better, or how your situation will unfold, that is huge.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You are moving farther up the mountain, and as you do, you will begin to see more possibilities. You&#8217;ll become a better match to higher-energy thoughts and feelings, and they will come in more naturally.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You feel like crap and you just want to feel as happy as you are told you can be&#8230;I get it. But, if you try to jump too far, you&#8217;ll fall really hard.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You&#8217;ll actually get results more quickly if you are willing to be more gradual because then you will be generating some actual positive energy that will build and build, and move you closer to the life you want.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Go easy with yourself here.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Purging the Yuck<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Again, with all the focus on being positive and what have you, there can be a tendency to suppress all the &#8216;ugliness&#8217; and just try to be happy. You&#8217;ll do your affirmations, you&#8217;ll write down all the things you want, you&#8217;ll shift your focus to what is good in your life.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">But, still nothing seems to be happening. You are doing everything &#8216;right.&#8217; What is the problem here?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The problem is you really haven&#8217;t shifted your energy enough to manifest the things you want. You are not even close to being a match to them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">There is a big difference between genuinely feeling better, and pushing down the crap and pretending.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">That is why &#8216;positive thinking&#8217; doesn&#8217;t work for a lot of people. Essentially they are in denial.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You write down your gratitude list but feel not one lick of gratitude for these things..yeah, you have your health, but you are in financial dire straits and health don&#8217;t pay the bills. So what you have a house&#8230;so does everyone else you know too.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You say affirmations until your lips feel numb, but there is absolutely no emotion behind them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You are not actually feeling better so nothing can really change that much.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You have some heavy duty resistance and some hard core emotion that hasn&#8217;t budged an inch, and in the name of &#8216;getting happy&#8217; you have ignored it in hopes it would go away.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">This is what you are supposed to do right?<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Wrong.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You have to let this shit come up. It can be scary. It can be incredibly uncomfortable.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">If you are used to suppressing your emotions, or you have been in big time denial about the problematic situations in your life, facing it fully for the first time will not be a walk in the park.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">But, you have to do it. The good news is, after this initial purge, things tend to get better.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">It probably won&#8217;t be a one-off experience, and stuff will keep coming up, but you&#8217;ll be better equipped to deal with it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You&#8217;ll see the changes in your outside experience as a result, and you&#8217;ll more clearly see the value in this exercise. You&#8217;ll welcome it more, and you won&#8217;t suffer as much\u2014remember the sense of suffering is borne of our perspective, not the actual situation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You are not slowing things down by doing this&#8230;it is important to remember there is a HUGE difference between dealing with negativity that is already there and focusing your attention on outside sources that generate new negative emotion and give more strength to the limiting beliefs that you are working to change.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">For someone in your position, you would probably be better off holding off on all the exercises and what have you\u2014unless of course, they make you feel better, and just focus on facing what is happening now and letting it come up.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You have to honor where you are now. Don&#8217;t try to adopt these enlightened perspectives that you get in theory but are nowhere near embodying, like you are responsible for creating your reality, you can&#8217;t hold other people responsible for how you feel, everything happens for a reason, hard times are there to teach us lessons and help us grow, yada, yada, yada.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">When we do this, nothing can really shift and the shit that needs to get released won&#8217;t get released.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">If you are feeling resentful towards your parents for your bad childhood, be mad at them. Imagine they are sitting there with you and say all the hurtful, mean things you think about them.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">If you are angry with your ex-husband for leaving you, and you have held him responsible for all your misery, let yourself feel that anger towards him. Punch your couch, scream into a pillow, cry like you have never cried before.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You Don&#8217;t Have to Pretend to Be Okay With Things that Suck&#8230;<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">When your life is sucking balls big time, the idea of feeling good now and somehow viewing your current circumstances in a more positive light, can seem like a tall order, and borderline ridiculous.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">This might make you a little angry, and defensive about your negative outlook.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">And the reason you may get a bit bent out of shape about this is because what you are hearing is you should be feeling better about your CURRENT perspective of things sucking. You are hearing you should keep that current belief and just look at it in a different way.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">But, that is not what is being suggested to you, not by a long shot. What you want to work on is developing a different perspective that actually makes you feel better.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You don&#8217;t have to start liking things you don&#8217;t like or pretend the things you think are bad actually aren&#8217;t so bad.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You don&#8217;t have to pretend you are okay with being poor and feeling badly about it. You don&#8217;t have to pretend to be okay with being alone and feeling miserable about it.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">It is about focusing on the things in your life that can generate positive emotion.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">It is about seeing what lessons may be hidden in these trials and tribulations and how you can start learning from them immediately.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">It&#8217;s okay to have preferences. We all have things we like and don&#8217;t like. We all have our own unique vision for our life, and if your experience right now doesn&#8217;t fit the bill, you don&#8217;t have to pretend everything is hunky dory.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Again, we don&#8217;t have to go into denial. We have to work on generating genuine good feelings and shifts in our beliefs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Now, it is important to remember this doesn&#8217;t give you license to keep feeling badly. Sure, you&#8217;ll be feeling better incrementally. You&#8217;ll have your moments when you feel like crap and that you may be wasting your time.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Happens to everyone. But, you have to be willing to search for this better perspective. You have to be willing to give yourself permission to feel better no matter how bleak things may seem now.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Your mind will fight you on this..it won&#8217;t hesitate to point out all the reasons you should feel like shit, all the times in the past things didn&#8217;t turn out like you wanted and all the &#8216;proof&#8217; your crappy beliefs and self-image are true.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">But now that you know this is what is happening, you have to put in some conscious effort to steer your focus down a different path.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You don&#8217;t have to get rid of everything you don&#8217;t like in your life now in order to start feeling better. And like I said before, you don&#8217;t need to make some monster leap from miserable to manically joyful to start seeing changes and to start gathering some &#8216;proof&#8217; that our focus determines our experience, and you are freaking powerful.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You may not be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel right now, but the willingness to acknowledge the light exists, is a great step in the right direction. It can provide a sense of relief that things can get better, and relief is a huge boon to this energetic work.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">In Closing&#8230;<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Right now you may not be in a space where you can whip up a frenzy of fuzzy feelings for the things you want. Affirming and other tools may have little effect on you, and that&#8217;s okay because they are simply a means to an end anyway.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">It may be hard to visualize what it is you want with any real emotion after feeling crappy for so long. It&#8217;s okay.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">But, even so, don&#8217;t be afraid to express what it is you want. The Universe is listening.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Right now you may not be a match to whatever it is, but you can by all means get there if you are willing to honor where you are right now, and wade through some emotionally muddy waters for a bit.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">You have to let yourself feel better without anything outside of you justifying the emotional boost.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">The space you are in right now is one of minimizing the pain, and eventually you will cross the threshold to maximizing all the good gooey feelings like peace, happiness and fulfillment. You gotta start somewhere.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">If you are patient enough to move down the path gradually, you&#8217;ll make faster progress than you can probably imagine now.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 class=\"western\"><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">Your Turn&#8230;<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: 12pt;\">What did you think of this post?
